Default First time posting

Hi. This is my first time posting. I had lost about 30 lbs. over the last 2-1/2 years after going from full time desk job to a part time job where I'm on my feet the entire time. I gained a couple of pounds during the holidays. I am ready to get more serious about eating healthy and exercising, so here I am looking for inspiration and support. This looks like a geat place for that!
I am 5'2" tall and 195 lbs. I would like to get down to about 135 lbs.

Lunchl8y... are you really a lunch lady? Probably for a school, right?

Oh, I used to live in Virginia - Manassas. What part are you from?

By the way, I gained a couple pounds over the holidays, too. It happens to the best of us!

Hey there!

We have a ton of forums by age range, eating plan, etc. Look around...you're sure to find a spot where you fit in just perfectly.

Find a forum or two, settle in, and keep posting. Can't wait to get to know you better!

Hi NightengaleShane!

I live in Richmond, VA. Yes, I really am a lunch lady. My son is in second grade and I'm a cashier in his school cafeteria. The hours work great with his school schedule. I'm on contract, so I get paid during the summer to stay home with my son.

I also have another part time job as a photographer.

contract and getting paid during the summer sounds good. That's also awesome that you do photography. What kind of photography do you do? Weddings? Portraits? nature? Whatever they pay you for?

I take pictures of kid's sports teams. We will be starting basketball photos this month. I take an individual posed portrait of each child, then a picture of the entire team. It's a fun job.

Prior to getting my lunch lady job, I worked at a portrait studio for a year. It was really stressful working there during the pre-Christmas rush. I enjoyed photographing couples and taking senior high school photos more than photographing babies and toddlers. It can be difficult getting the little ones to smile. It was a good experience, but my new job is a lot closer to home and it actually pays more.
