Default Catinhat is feeling 'fatinhat'

Hello, All,

I am a little overwhelmed with just how big and busy this place is, but I'm going to go ahead and post a hello, in hopes that someone will find it, read it, and maybe even respond.

It looks like I joined here a long time ago and then lost the link, got scared, something. I'm back, and truly, I want and need to make some important changes in how I relate to food, exercise and health. I need support and encouragement, and I am good at giving support and encouragement too.

I'm 42. I live on a small hobby farm with my husband and daughter. We garden and raise a few chickens, and I'm at home full time with her (mostly - I do substitute at the library a little bit on the weekends.

I am just guessing at this moment, but I'd say that I am supposed to lose about 90 pounds. Ouch. If I have a mini goal, it's to lose about 25. I need to weigh, take measurements, whatever else.

I feel a little lost in this big place, and need to find a touchstone or two within the framework. I'm considering Alli to help me get things started, I have Wii fit, and I think I'm addicted to soda.

Guess that's about it for now. Thanks for reading.

Hey catinhat!

We have groups here that sound perfect for you...the 40-somethings, groups by eating plan, etc...so look around, settle in, and keep going.

Can't wait to get to know you better!

Library! Chickens! That sounds amazing

Welcome, welcome. This may be a big place but everyone here has much to offer and you'll fit right in, in no time.

I'm mostly a lurker but I'm sure we'll meet again in here somewhere!

Welcome to the site. It may seem daunting but you'll find a great forum and make your home there (or a few if you're like me!)

your screen name....sounds kinda familiar somehow.

Mini goal is a good idea, don't think about it 90 pounds at a time - too overwhelming.

Sounds like cutting out soda or switching to sugar free might be a good place to start along with the exercise?
