Default Trying Again

Okay, I am thinking that 2009 is going to be the year for success.
I am 40 yrs old and have stuggled with my weight since the birth of my daughter 13 years ago.
Today my weight is at 216. I have bounced around between 200 and 216 for the past 5 years after being at 230 after the birth of my daughter. I have tried WW and did very well the first time around but had no success the second time. The thing that works best for me is exercise but finding the time has been impossible.
I need some motivation and a good kick in the pants to reach my goal.
Anyone out there up for the challenge?

Hi Trob!! Nice to see you! There is something very motivating about the start of a new year. I know how hard it is to find time for exercise (I work & have 4 kids of my own). Once I learned that it is not "finding time", but rather "making time", I was able to accomplish a lot. It takes creativity and patience, but....you're a MOM! You have both of those in spades.

Welcome!

Thanks for the greeting! I know that I use the lack of time as an excuse but there are times when I feel like my life is not my own.

Hi Trob,
Your title caught my eye, I too am trying again. I started a new job about 4 years ago and put on 10 pounds a year for the past 4 years, I am mad at myself because about 5 years ago I lost 60 pounds! So therefore I am trying again.
I read a good quote from Oprah who is up and own with the weight too, she said this "I don't have a weight problem I have a self-care problem" as moms, business people, woman in general put those things before themselves. I know I will be a better mom and a better teacher if I take care of me first! So that is my new atttitude. I hope you can do that same.

I made a job change 4 years ago also. I had taught at the same school for over 10 years to take a speciality position at another school and leap up 5 grade levels. It was quite a shock to the system, in more ways than one.
The quote from Oprah hits the nail on the head for me. I put everyone before myself and it is time that I found some balance.

Hello Trob,
I guess you could say that I am in the same boat as you. I had successfully done this before but didn't do the maintanence part of the deal. I am determined to get myself on the right track this year. Good luck to you and hope to see you in the posts!

Congratulations for wanting to try again. It's the giving up and not wanting to try that is the problem.

Maybe find a walking buddy. That might help you find the motivation if another person is counting on you.

Good luck!
