Default Here I go!

I am 42 and my BMI is 42, so maybe my first goal should be to lose 42 pounds
How did I get here? I LOVE junk food and I HATE exercise, so.. pretty easy to get to obesity from there.

My husband is overweight too, and we have decided to conquer the fat monster together. He has some health problems. I don't have any health problems and I don't want any! My dad sat me down at Thanksgiving and told me I really needed to look into gastric bypass, which I know works wonders for many, but I just don't want to go under the knife, for a variety of reasons.

We have 3 kids, and many years from now I would like to see my grandchildren, so I really need to get my weight down to a normal range. I know these forums will be really helpful to me, so I thank all of you for being here with me!

Hey thinpossible!

You can do this! Look around - we have groups by age range (like the 40-somethings) or for those looking to lose a certain amount of weight (like the 100 lb club).

Back when I started, I'd say the same things you did...I loved junk, I hated exercise. But then I cut out the junk for a few hard weeks, and after that? The junk wasn't that appealing. And I DO promise that exercise grows on you too. I can't imagine life without it, now...

Anyway, I'm glad you've found us. Can't wait to get to know you better.

Thanks Amanda, I read your story, wow! I think the way you stuck to it during that long plateau is almost as inspiring as all that weight loss. Thanks for your encouragement.
