Default Sort of OT: biggest loser + cheap people

So the restaurant I work at was on Biggest Loser tonight, and some person called and asked if we were offering a discount to people who watched the show. How cheap can you get? It's bad enough that people have been tipping lower percentages lately, cutting into my rent money; now they're trying anything they can think of to lower the check total, too? Sigh, it's a good thing I am making gifts this year.

Why would they expect a discount just for sitting on the couch and watching tv?! Sheesh... WTH.

I'm sorry your tips are suffering.

That's pretty incredible. You should have said, "No, but come on in anyway and we'll give you your medal".

Did anyone else find this ironic, a restaurant hosting a diet show finale? Is your restaurant like a health food or whole food place? lol, it just struck me as kinda funny.

The restaurant was not actually where it was hosted, it was where they filmed some of the footage of two of the contestants, because it is where they had their wedding reception a couple of years ago. They had some sort of filming segment there, and showed our menu and our restaurant on the finale.

And no, it's not health food; our chef uses PLENTY of butter, lol.

Like Ed & Heba's restaurant?

Hmmm, seems weird about the question. People really are hurting for money these days. Or maybe, the person was a jerk!

Yeah people might be hurting for money but there's ALWAYS the people who want as much for as little as possible. Some just think they are entitled lol

Hey...Dh and I were trying to remember the name of the Rest. as we had never heard of it..and my dh works in the same town. Do you mind sharing the name. If you don't want it totally public...you can PM me. If we go..I promise to give you a nice tip. We are getting a little bored with Red Hot & Blue and Outback.

No kidding. If they're that hard up for money wtf are they trying to eat out for? I'm glad you're polite, I would have hung up on them.
