Yesterday was my four-month anniversary of recommitting to the Atkins way of eating. For the last four months, I have stayed on plan, no cheating at all. I am keeping my carb consumption at around 10 grams per day. I have to keep it that low because I will get carb cravings at a higher level.
Also, I am avoiding triggers like diet soda, Splenda and other artificial sweeteners, and I am only eating food I prepare myself (except for the occasional and infrequent trip to Burger King for a bacon double cheeseburger, plain, no bun). I'm taking the recommended supplements and also trying to do either cardio, free weights, Yoga or Pilates 4-5 times a week. I did Atkins in 1999-2000 then again in 2003 with great success (lost over 120 lbs total, then gained it all back plus some in late 2003-2004), but it was far more difficult to lose it last time than this time. I think the two key reasons it's working so well this time is 1) I'm not depressed and 2) I'm keeping my carb count very low, so no cravings.
I am very happy to tell y'all that, as of yesterday, I have lost 75 lbs and 5 dress sizes, from a 32 to a 22.

I am thrilled and happily anticipating 2009, where my goal is to get down below a size 14, which is the smallest size I've ever worn as an adult. I finally feel like I deserve to be healthy so I'm doing this for myself, and it's wonderful.
(I tried to post pics but the board won't let me; I'll add pics later.)
As a side note, I also quit smoking (27 year habit, about a pack a day) cold turkey October 8th.
