Default Talkin Tuesday!

Good Tuesday Morning everyone. Grab a cup of Java (or tea) and have a seat, come chat with us!

The dogs (and I) are walked and I'm sitting down with a cup before making lunch and taking shower. I haven't been feeling well so this is the first time in a week the dogs have been out. Probably should not of gone out today even. Oh well. Payroll is all done for the week, at least the reporting of it is. I'm hoping ann hands the next part to me this week, reporting of certified to the state.

hope all is well, and I swear I'll get in sometime soon for personals. In the meantime, here's a BIG  FOR ALL MY FRIENDS! I miss you all.

Good Morning Everyone!

I just finished eating some cottage cheese (which I can't live without recently) and it's about time to wake up DD to start the day. I love this quiet time before anyone gets up in the morning!

Loriann- I'm sure your dogs are very happy about their walk! Mine are still curled up in the bed with DH and wouldn't even get up for a treat. I hope you still feel OK after the walk.

Have a great day!

Thanks for getting us started today, Loriann, and I hope you get to feeling better real soon. I hope your day is a good one.

murphydoodle, I enjoy the peace and quiet of starting a brand new day in the mornings, too.

The weather doesn't look real great for today, rain, sleet, snow. After yesterday's 60* and tomorrow's 50*, it's no wonder most everyone around here has the sickies. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the roads don't freeze, I have lots of hills and curves on my drive to work. But at least there's no after school activities scheduled, so we'll just spend the afternoon at home.

Good morning, Lori, Murphy and Cottage. It's nice to see you folks up before me after my very early start yesterday.

We finally are back to "normal" weather after yesterday's heat wave. I did manage to get all the ice and slush shovelled away from steps, decks and walks out there and we had a strong wind that dried things up. It should be much safer walking outside. The outside lights are up and lit last night. Now to find my dusk 'til dawn timer to save going outside to turn them off and on.

Today we Jazz goes to my vet for a check-up, maybe some shots and a nail clipping. I've always done my own doggy pedicures but his nails are way too tiny and awfully hard to see. We have the first appointment as I need to be back in time to pack and distribute the Good Food Boxes. That's sort of a mini-Christmas as we never know what the wholesaler has given us!

I STILL have a couple of cards to do, two gifts to wrap, a wall hanging to finish and three more loads of laundry. A week from right now, I'll be getting on the plane for Vancouver so need to get those niggles done. I seem to be spending a lot of time cuddling furry four-legged creatures!

Hmmm - no eggs so I'll have to be creative for breakfast. Chili, anyone?

Good morning Well some of my friends and co-workers still don't have power and we have another ice storm coming in tonight! I'm already sick of this Yesterday I saw the reason our power was out. There was a huge pine tree that snapped on the hillside and brought the wires down. I'm just lucky it was on one of the main lines or I might still be out.

Lori - It's always nice to see you in the morning Hope you feel better soon. I'm going to make another one of my non-SBD pitches for Emergen-C. That stuff really works - take it from someone who works in a bldg full of toddlers and an office with families in and out all day. We buy boxes for office use because we've had such good luck with it.

Murphy - I still like my quiet morning start. Makes the whole day a little smoother.

Cottage - Good luck with the weather today. Could you encourage it to go out to sea instead of coming here??!!

Ruth - Chili sounds good to me. Of course i just ate refried beans with collards & salsa so I might be the wrong person to ask Cuddling 4 leggeds seems like just the right thing to do.

Another day in the office and another meeting - how exciting. This time of year I rarely do visits because people are busy and kids are excited and people prefer not to see me I'm just one more visitor to throw their days off. Ah well, lots of paperwork to catch-up on. Right now we are sorting through the proposed emergency state budget cuts and trying to determine how badly the folks we work with will be hit. Why is it that when governments cut budgets those who have the least get hit the hardest?

Hope everyone has a good, safe day

Good morning ladies. I hope you don't mind if I join the daily chat.

We had ice through the night too. This has been a crazy winter so far. I had to buy a coat last weekend. I usually get by with a light jacket.

I'm drinking my first cup of coffee. Finally, the scale has decided to move. I gained 2 lbs when we went to Vegas in Oct. It has taken this long to lose them.

Can't wait to watch Biggest Loser tonight. I'm rooting for Michelle.

Good day to all.

Good Morning, Ladies.

I hope you don't mind me chiming in. We also had ice last night. Schools are closed for the first two hours this morning. I am here having my coffee. There are many wrecks because we are just not prepared for this kind of weather where I live. I have my fire going and wearing my toasty slippers.

Lori: I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get back to normal soon!

murphy: My DH can't live without some cottage cheese in the fridge, but I can't stand it. I guess it's the texture, but it grosses me out. I hope you have a great day!

Cottage: Be careful on the road! I'm glad you're going to be able to stay in all afternoon!

Ruth: I know the doggage adores their extra cuddle time with you, so I wouldn't sweat it! I'm glad the walking paths are safer for you. Enjoy your day!

Cyndi: What a terrible way to spend a day; figuring out how bad the ones that are going to get hit are going to have it. I hope you enjoy some of your day and that the ice storm isn't bad...I'm sending ya'll good thoughts for no power outages tonight!

Pam: Welcome to the daily chat! I'm a Biggest Loser fan this season, but I won't be able to catch it tonight. I'll have to watch one of the millions of re-runs this weekend! I hope you have a great day and congrats on seeing the scale move!!

Thighs Be Gone: Good morning! What a shame about all those wrecks. Ice is such a hard thing to deal with while driving. I hope you have a great (warm) day!

Me: Things are going fairly well. We have a very annoying woman in our class and she's aggravating everyone, including the instructor. It's making it tough for my staff to focus on the task at hand, but I think they'll do better today. They're prepared and know what to expect.

My sister down in San Antonio had to take both of my grandparents to the ER last night. They both had viral infections and hadn't eaten or drank in 2 1/2 days!! They gave GP an IV and were able to send him home last night. GM was admitted as she's diabetic and not in the clear yet. Please send up a prayer for them.

After class tonight, I'm supposed to meet up with my parents and sisters for dinner, but if GM is still hospitalized, they may just pick me up and take me down to SA with them to visit her. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Well, I must be going. Need to be in my classroom by 8:30 and I still need to finish my makeup.

Hope everyone to come has a great day and here's some for those of us that need it!!

~Kim

Morning ladies. Lots going on already this morning!

I made up my sugar cookie dough this morning already and we're planning on "painting" them this afternoon (I use an egg wash with food coloring added). Those and gingerbread men are my last cookie endeavors.

Other than that, not much on the agenda other than just normal house maintenance.

ok....so I undertook a bit more than just standard house maintenance. I ended up steam cleaning the sofa and all the cushions/pillows as well as the carpet in DS' room. He's taking a nap now so I should have two hours to find something else to do. I must be in serious nesting mode.

I wish I could figure out why my sewing machine isn't working...I have curtains to finish for DS2's room. Maybe I'll just finish them by hand.

Good Morning Ladies! I am back on track as of yesterday and feeling good about it. I am going to go to the gym in just a few, but I am allowing myself to finish a book first only 1 more tiny chapter, and I am hoping that the ups guy comes with my new books today!!!! if not I don't know what I am going to do tonight! lol

zeff- what kind of steamer do you have to clean the furniture with? I really need to do that as well, and it would be great if I could do it before family came to visit, I rented a rug doctor with attachments but it was so gross I was afraid to put it on the couch!...GL with the sewing machine, if I touch one, I break it. I don't know what my problem is?!

Pearl- enjoy BL tonight! and be safe driving home!

Gonnabe, TBG, pam, murph-

Kim- Sending up prayers for your g&g...

Cyndi- gl with those budget cuts and your paperwork! Wishing the ice away from you

Ruth- your xmas to do list sounds about like mine! so much left to do!

Cottage- enjoy your afternoon at home!

Loriann- bet your dogs sure did enjoy the walk! hope you feel better

ME- well, today is hopefully going to be busy... with my book out of the way(after the one last chapter) the UPS guy usually doesn't come till 5-6 so, I won't have my book to distract me lol I need to... go to the gym, do laundry, finish xmas cards, maybe do some xmas shopping, go to the post office, walmart, do a quick sweep over the house, and make some dinner- probably something super easy like chili or some kind of soup... Whew, I better get to it!

Rikki - I have a bissell little green and a bissell Quick Steamer Powerbrush. I don't use them as much with 90% hardwood floors, but the little green is AWESOME for upholstery and small stains. They aren't technically steam cleaners, but I bought some sort of chemical free cleaner for it. We have a microsuede couch and a drooly kid (these two do not mix) and tend to get water spots on the sofa.

I really like the power steamer as well - it does leave the carpet rather damp compared to the more expensive model, but it works really well and some towels on the walking areas keep your feet dry. It usually takes about 6-8 hours to dry completely.

I would definitely recommend the little green, though. I was going to buy the spot bot until I saw this. It requires a bit more elbow grease than the spot bot, but to me, it is faster because I can just scrub and not have to wait for a cycle to finish. It was great when we had almost all carpet and DS would spill a little. It was definitely a lot easier than hauling out the big cleaner.

I will have to look at that little green- I also have a microsuede couch and chaise lounge that shows every little wet mark! and I have a crazy cat who I believe thinks she is cleaning herself but ends up cleaning the couch till there is a huge wet spot on it... I accused dh of drooling on it before I realized it was her ...lol

So, does the little green leave it very wet? do you have to do the whole thing or can you just "Spot" clean?

Oh, and do you have the regular one or the one with heat?
