Cate Blanchette's inexplicably bad dress
I just can't in my wildest dreams imagine wearing something that sticks OUT from your hips by six inches. Uh, I'm always trying to go a few inches the OTHER way!
What an odd dress for such a beautiful woman!

It looks like a costume. What's that thing coming out from under the skirt? How strange...

Err.. bizarre. I usually love dresses/skirts that poof out on the end, but the weird jeweled thing is.. well, weird. In an unappealing way.

lol I would totally wear that--were the under fabric some dark (blue?) and the over-fabric not.. shiny or leopard print. The ACTUAL lines of the dress are really fun!!
Of course, this is why I only have friends on Halloween

If the dress was more fitted it would be cute. Usually she dresses quite classes what happened?

Hahahahaha. Now that's pretty bad. I never understood how celebrities could leave their homes without someone telling them they were making a big mistake if they were dressed really horribly. Hahaha. Guess you know who your true friends are, right?? Hahahaha.

I think if it were shorter it would have worked, it was just too long to where it made the skirt underneath look bad also. BUT if that top layer had been shorter and then the longer skirt was underneath, then it might have looked a lot better.

She is very beautiful, BUT that dress really makes her proportions totally out of wack. Silly girl.

I think she was taking a fashion risk, wearing something fun and different. Unfortunately, it was kooky looking and not at all flattering.

hehe. Cute.
I love Cate. She's moving up the list to become one of my favorite actresses, but that dress is just inexplicable.

I actually didn't think it was as bad as you all thought... Cate Blanchett is one of my favorite actresses, though, maybe I am giving her a break.
It would be miles better without that layer underneath, though. That's what making it such a strange shape.
