Default Can someone lend me some willpower?

Hi, I'm new... well, kind of. I registered over a year ago and spent lots of time lurking and reading and not posting. Last month I gave birth to my first child, a son we named David. I gained 21 lb during the pregnancy and have lost it all, plus an additional 8 lb from my pre-pregnancy weight. However, I have been looking to lose weight since before I got pregnant, I just never had the willpower to do something about it!

I have always had this nasty habit of going on and off healthy eating habits. I would spend 2 or 3 weeks eating healthy foods and not so healthy foods in moderation, and then I would cave in one day to a junk food binge and never get back on the wagon... what can I say, like lots of people I have battled with patterns of binge eating since I was a child.

Now that I am a mom, I am looking to develop a healthier relationship with food so that I can set a good example for my son. When I was a kid, my mom spent most of her time on and off of diets and hating her body, and I don't want to repeat her mistakes. So I'm officially posting my hello and trying once again to start eating more healthfully! I'm not looking to lose too much weight, just 15 lb or so, but I'm hoping to find a diet buddy who can help keep me accountable, someone to talk about struggles with their relationship with food. I do better when I'm not accountable only to myself.

Anyway, just a hello from my corner of the world. I hope to stay here a lot longer than last time!!!

Hey there!

I think you might want to check out our "Featherweights" forum - for those with less to lose than others here might. It's a great little corner!

You may also want to check out our forums by age range or eating plan.
