do you have a bizarre pattern with weigh ins...? this morning i weighed in and my very accurate super clever scales flickered between 211.6/212.2 and 212.8
i have weighed in at 212.2 the day before today so ive kept it at that, do you think it means im in for a loss?
I never rely on the scale, it doesn't like me most days. lol I remember one day I weighed 289 and that evening I was 285 and then the morning I was 290. What the crap? Then like a week later I was down 5 pounds and it stuck.... so werid. Inches are the key, they don't fluctuate.
Pretty Paula, my cheap little scale (30 bucks at Sears) is pretty doggone accurate. I weigh three times in a row each morning and rarely get different readings. Now and again I will step up and it will begin like 156 and then jump to 156.5. In that case, I always take the higher reading. I do weigh every morning as I find I can monitor more closely than weekly weigh-ins. Even if it's water, I want to start working immediately. If I get an extra boost for the hard work, well...all the better!
I would say so! Fluctuation can be tricky like that. Two days ago I was 304 now I'm 306 but I do have my period right now so I know that's going to effect it.
I hate the friggin scale! I have def had 3 different WI's all one after another. And I really am starting to hate the scale. I am losing inches but not lbs. I hate that!
I really really really try not to weigh myself more than once a week but I usually fail at that. I tend to get disappointed b/c my weight will fluctuate and then I get all pissy. I have a friend who actually has the willpower to only weigh herself once every 2 week...I could never do that! I really think I'm going to start measuring myself because as "Here We Go Again" stated inches don't fluctuate.
I weigh myself daily only because I'm trying to ensure what I'm doing to start out is effective. If I need to make some adjustments I want to be able to as soon as possible. I haven't been discouraged though when my weight goes up and down (especially during TOM); I expected this and just sorta rolled with the punches so to speak.
I do measure myself once a week however so I can keep track of non weight accomplishments as I continue to add strength workouts and build those muscles I haven't used in a decade or so.
I wouldn't fret over the .6, .2. .4 readings. Water is generally the biggest factor there, or even the actual weight of the food you ate... maybe you stayed in your calorie range, but the food you ate was dense. I think its pretty important to weigh just once a week. Then you really have something to look forward to that was culminating all week long.
My weigh ins have been all over the place! I was 178.5, then 177.5, then 176.5, then 177.5, then 175.0, 174.5, 175.5... at least the trend is downwards, it's just frustrating to keep going up and down each day.
this happens to me all the time, and even though I know its going to happen I still freak out everytime it does. my weight tends to flux about 3 lbs everyday depending on how much I eat, drink, exercise, sleep, work, anything really.
To keep me sane I now try to measure my weight with a 3 pound allowance. if in the morning I weigh 160 and before I go to bed I weigh 163 I can usually assume it will be gone by the morning, but if its not gone by the morning I know there's something amiss...
