Good morning! I stayed under the covers as long as I could this morning, it was chilly in the bedroom! We don't have heat in there, just what comes in from the hallway. I like it like that, although Jake complains. I win, though.
I'm looking at my to-do lists, and there's still so much I have to do before Christmas. I keep thinking I'm finished shopping, but there's always a few more gifts I have to get. Yesterday I had lunch with a friend, and she had a lovely gift for me, which was so thoughtful of her, but now I feel I should give her something. This gift-giving can really get out of hand! On the other hand, she's a single girl who is working here as an au-pair. I bet she'd appreciate a nice basket of homemade cookies. There, I solved that one!
So what's on your agenda for this frosty day?
Kim, I am keeping you in my prayers! Take care, Sweetie!

Cottage - I just can't think about my list or I start to twitch. It's all coming barreling down on me this year and I'm totally unprepared.
Tomorrow my friend and I are taking our annual shopping day. It's the only day all year I go near the mall. We will go to the Yankee Candle Factory until the smells overwhelm us, then to the mall for Michael's. the Christmas Tree Shop, and apparently the toy store (she has 2 grandchildren to shop for). It's a fun, relaxing day though not always totally productive. It does usually get me focused on the holidays.
Nothing interesting on tap today - just another day in the office. I'm supposed to do a program visit but it's an outdoor program and I just don't l know if I"m up for standing outside for an hour this morning. May reschedule for a warmer day.
RUTH, that's a terrific picture of you and Disney. Thanks for sharing it!
CYNDI, It sounds like a fun day planned for tomorrow. I'm not a fan of candles, in fact, I am phobic about them, but I do like Yankee candles. They have some lovely scents, and I have several holiday ones that I just decorate with a candle ring and leave the top off. I never light them, though. And a trip to Michael's. to me, is like a kid in toyland heaven! That place is very dangerous for me! Have fun, and try not to spend too much money! I hope you can re-schedule your outdoor program.
P.S. My son picked up an extra job over the holidays working at The Christmas Tree Shop. He gets a 40% employee discount, which I've taken full advantage of!
It is raining buckets out there today! Not complaining though, it could be ice or snow!
Cottage I love a cold bedroom also! It's apparent our room in the new house is colder than the old because my poor Reggie has taken to sleeping under the covers! Yes I allow the dog to sleep in our bed, bad pet owner!
Ruth What a wonderful picture!
Cyndi your day tomorrow sounds like my kind of shopping, have fun!
Me I'm under a bit of pressure at work, found out late yesterday that one of our main lenders who does manufactured homes is no longer doing them after Thursday. Thanks for the notice! Now I am in a rush to get 2 of them closed by then and on a search for a new lender as we do ALOT of manufactured homes around here. Ah the joys of the mortgage business recently.
Good Morning girls- I actually have my butt out of bed and motivated to go to the gym so I better go before I lose that! Will be back to write my personals later!
Morning girls. Quick post this morning as I have to get breakfast on the table soon.
I finished shopping for DH last night. I only had a few odd things left to get him so I stopped at Banana Republic and got him some fitted t-shirts (I've never liked a man in t-shirts until these) and a cashmere sweater.
I really need to get focused on my gift baskets or I'm never going to get them done. I have a ton of recipes flagged, but nothing actually made or decided upon. Chop chop!
DH's car is done!! We're going to get it today when he gets home from school!
Finally I'll have a car during the day!
Hi chicks, just a quick hello this morning. DD and I have dental appts this morning. DS is home again until tomorrow. It is strep throat. Ruth, what a great picture! That's a Christmas card right there.
Check back in later. Have a great day ladies!
Ruth - what a lovely picture. You look great and doggie is so cute.
Cottage and everyone else - don't fret about not completing your Christmas list. It won't matter on the 26th.
Me - DH had his surgery yesterday and it was a long day in the hospital. They kept him overnight because his surgery took much longer than a gall bladder one should. Apparently the inflammation was very bad and that makes it for a risky one. Anyways, he's home today and fever free so that's a good sign. I will be playing nurse for the next couple of days and then when he gets better have to watch him like a hawk. He's not suppose to lift anything heavy and the man doesn't know what heavy means. Ours sons will be over to shovel the snow.
Have a good day chickies.
Sophie
Good morning everyone. Thanks so much to everyone who visited me on the general chatter thread I started. Things are getting better, I think. I'm just trying to take it one separation at a time.
Cottage: Thanks for the prayers! I really appreciate them! I'm sure your friend would love just about anything for Christmas...cookies are one of my favorite presents to receive , so I don't think you'll go wrong there!
Ruth: That is an ADORABLE pic of you and Disney! It looks like a Christmas card to me as well!
Cyndi: I vote you stay inside today! It's too cold to be out that long! Enjoy your shopping day. It really sounds lovely. I could move in to Michael's!
Stephanie: to you! I'm sorry things are so crazy for you right now and I hope you find a lender for your manufactured home clients soon.
Gonna: Enjoy your evening in front of the tv!
rdw: Have a great workout!
Zeffryn: I'm glad your DH's car is done! I know it will be such a relief for both of you that you'll have a car again. WTG getting DH's Christmas shopping done. Did you set a budget or just "know" when you're done? I always say that I'm done with him and then find more things I want to get him. I end up shopping for his Christmas presents until about Jan. 15th! I'm sure he enjoys it!
Schmoodle: Good luck at the dentist this morning!
Sophie: I hope your DH has a speedy recovery. Thank goodness for your sons coming over to shovel snow for him.
Me: I'm doing okay. I've been really good about my eating and DH and I started our workout routine again last night. He's taking me to see Twilight tonight and I really can't wait. I did love the books and I'm sure the movie is going to be a bit cheesy, but I still can't wait. It's given me something to look forward to to help me get through the day. I hope I'm not disappointed.
DH and I have been talking a lot about what's been going on with my emotions the past few days and it does feel like it's getting better. I hope so; I have to leave for a week on Sunday for training. Oh well. We'll see what happens!
Kim - we set a budget of $200 each this year...I think I was over by about $60.
I started making a list for him in June when he started saying things that he would really appreciate having. We send each other lists in November, but by that time they are really just supplementing what we already know we're going to get. The most important things on the lists we send are books because neither of us can keep track of what the other has and hasn't read.
Sophie - Glad to hear DH is home. Sounds like he really needed the removal and should feel much better with that thing gone. Hope you're taking care of you too.
Cottage- I believe the gift giving does get out of hand! I feel obligated as you do, but I think friends and family enjoy cookies just about as much as anything! and its super thoughtful too Sweet deal on the 40%! awesome! I want new ornaments this year but they are so darned expensive I told myself I would eait til after Christmas- you get the after christmas sales before christmas though!!!
Ruth- as I said before I love your pic! so cute!
Cyndi- My mom and I do an annual shopping day as well, but we make it black friday although we never make an agenda and just shop around and people watch- as hectic as black friday is it is relaxing and interesting to me lol
Pacer-raining buckets here too and I was hoping to get my lights up outside, maybe I just won't do it this year! hmph. Hoping everything goes smoothly in changing lenders at work...
Gonna
Zeff- whooo hoooo I can't stand to be without a car~
Sophie& schmoodle- wishing your dh&ds a speedy recovery~!
Kim- you gotta let me know how twilight was(no spoilers though!) I finished the first book last night and ran out this morning to get the next~ I am addicted!
So, it ws nice before I left this morning and nice when I came home from the gym, but while I was getting ready to go to the grocery it started pouring~! I text DH and told him how crappy it was lugging groceries around myself in this mess!!! lol I told him I was stopping by a friends to let their dogs out, going home and calling it a day! and thats just what I am doing! Off to snuggle in on the couch and start New Moon! can't wait!
