Default SparkPeople or The Daily Plate?

i need your wisdom ive been using the daily plate for a bout 5 months now, its been great, i really like it. Someone told me about SparkPeople so i am checking it out now, it looks quite nice with a few extra features than the daily plate (or maybe i just missed them on there ) It seems really nice and easy to set goals and track your progress on there two. I am just wondering if anyone has tried both and which they have preferred or had the most success with?

I also know someone who has recently been diagnosed with really high blood pressure and has to basically change their life style pretty completely, and i noticed that SparkPeople gives you the option when you sign up to say if you have high blood pressure because they can help with that. Has anyone received their help? Was it any good?

I haven't tried the Daily Plate, but I am getting more and more active on Spark. I didn't think I'd use all of the bells and whistles on the site, but I'm finding them more fun than I thought. Trying to get more "points" to get to the next trophy has been fun. Also the "goodies" that you can purchase, give away or be gifted are a lot more fun than I would have expected. Goodies are virtual gifts, just pictures of fun things with various values assigned to them, for example a "hug" is about 5 pts I think, and it's a pic of people in a huddle. I bought for myself (among other things) and like to give out 5pt four leaf clovers. They've become my "signature" gift.

I use The Daily Plate through Livestrong.com and am perfectly happy with it. I paid to get the "gold" level of membership, which allows me to sort my food by "meals" as well as to see more detailed nutritional information.

I used sparkpeople in the past and liked it fine, I just find that TDP is more intuitive for me and I like their database better. I also like the idea of my payment helping to support Livestrong.

:O i thought you could already sort your food into meals without buying gold. Do u find that the gold membership has helped with your weight loss? Or is more of a nifty ad on? I definately find TDP more intuitive at the moment, but i guess new layouts etc are just things you get used to in time

I switched from the daily plate to sparkpeople. The daily plate's food database is MUCH better. It's all of the extras that led me to choose Sparkpeople.

I started here and my first loyalty remains to this site, so while it has bunches of cool stuff, it took me a long time to explore what Spark People had to offer. Now I like and am comfortable on both sites (though still spend the bulk of my online weight loss efforts here).

I've never used the daily plate, but i have used sparkpeople. I go through phases of using it. I don't think their food database is as current and up to date as some other ones i've used though. Right now i have an add on to Mozilla that is in my tool bar - caloriecountplus. It works, and is convenient. It doesn't have anything extra, but i never really used the extra stuff at Sparkpeople either .

yeah, im definately finding that the data base is smaller, but i guess i can always search on TDP and add it in manually to SparkPeople i do love the extras that spark has though...decisions, decisions!
