Default Another newbie who needs some support

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this whole blogging and online support thing, but I'm ready to give it a whirl. I figured seeing success stories from other people would help keep me motivated and get some good ideas from others' successes.

I'm 28 years old, and my weight has been slowly creeping up on me. I swore up and down that I would never hit 200, and here I am, 220, and struggling to get even a few pounds off. My biggest struggle is portion control. I LOVE food and I love to cook. I was also diagnosed about a year ago with underactive thyroid, and working on getting that under control. I know what I need to do to lose weight, but it's just getting me to do it that's the problem...

Welcome Melinda!

I am a recent member myself but I just love this site...so many inspirational stories and insights and advice. I get the biggest charge at seeing all the pounds lost on those tickers....and I do think that weight loss is a bit contagious....you see others people's success and you want some too!

I recently discovered the Sonoma diet...it is for people who love to cook and love to eat....it might be worth checking out. Honestly, I am using Sonoma along with tracking calories....calorie counting is not necessary on the Sonoma Diet but I like it because then I know I am under 1800 cals....it satisfies my left-brain!

Best wishes,
thinkerbell
