Red face back in the game, I need a buddy or challenge or something to kick my butt

Hi 20-something chicks,

I've been around here on and off for a long time, but lately it's been more like "off". I lost a lot of weight about two years ago, I was 311 lbs when I started, and I lost over a hundred, with the help of the 3FC forum. I've kept it off more or less, but in the past year I've fluctuated up and down between 180 and 200lbs.
I know I've accomplished a lot to keep this much off, but I'm definitely not satisfied. I'm 192 lbs right now and I want to get down to at least 170. I feel like it's a totally different game now. It's a lot more effort, and I feel like I'm starting from square one in terms of building the habits I need, and being persistent. What makes it more difficult is that my skin is very saggy and when I get down closer to 180, it gets *really* loose. It's just hard to stay motivated because of that.
I've made arrangements to see a surgeon this week, because I know I'm gonna have surgery, and I want it sooner rather than later. I'd like to have the first surgery in June, or at least next summer sometime, but I guess I'll have to see what the doc has to say about that. I think if I work hard on this, I can get to my goal within 4 months. I hope so.

Anyway, long story short, I'd like a buddy or a weight loss challenge to motivate me! Any takers or advice? It's good to be back in the game. I feel more optimistic already.

First of all, CONGRATS on the previous weight loss. That is simply amazing. What type of diet/plan did you use?
That being said, I too have has success using this site to help me along and I'm down to 189 from 255 in June. We are very close in height and have a similar goal of "at least getting down to 170lbs"
I'd love to be your buddy!
My current struggle is my loss has been consistent and the past week the weight has just stopped coming off. I have not been splurging or going over my calories either with the exception of maybe 1 occasion. I need to get back into the exercise game!
Anyway, if you'd like to chat, feel free to message me.

There are actually 2 challenges going on right now. We have the Biggest Loser challenge & the 5Day OP Challenge. Really, the 5day one is only going to help keep us even more accountable to the Biggest Loser Challenge. Join one or both! We'd love to have you! Welcome back!

Consider yourself kicked . You can even run backwards until you hit some piece of furniture to add to the effect.

That surgery will go better when you are a lower weight. Maybe that will motivate you? I even believe they want you to be at a stable weight before they do the actual operation, because otherwise the effects will be less. You can do it, the challenges really help (at least, they help for me). When you really get into the habit it's not that hard to do!

Misstraveller I am indeed on the aquateam, thanks, good to be here!!

Thanks blanna when I finally got started I had an appointment with a dietician and then I went back several times to check in with her on my progress for the first few months. It really helped me to be accountable to someone... someone who didn't know me so they didn't have any preconceived notions that I couldn't do it. I didn't follow a specific plan really, I just tried to eat a lot of vegetables, whole grains when I could, and keep away from fatty foods for the most part. It wasn't complicated. Maybe it will have to be a more specific plan this time around.

Thanks Chance, I will probably get in on a 5 day challenge too, 5 days is not such an intimidating goal. lol

Elwing, yeah, I think you need to be at a stable weight for a few months before they will do surgery like that, and I definitely don't want this weight to be my final stable weight! So thanks for the butt kick!
