Default Confused on Starches

Hello All SBDer's,
I am confused as to how much starches you eat. In my SBD Good Eats, Good Carbs Guide it says P2 limit starches. Then I go to the brown starches in the back of the book where the foods are listed in an itemized format and it says that in P2 brown starches are good. The book defines good as regularly eaten?? Not sure?? I looked in the FAQ's and it says P2 increase starches to 3 to 4 servings a day?? Now super confused??? Thoughts?

When you begin introducing starches in Phase 2, it's best to go slowly to see just how the starches will affect you. Some people find they can have several servings of whole grains a day and continue to lose, while others have to limit themselves to one serving a day. Here's a thread from our FAQ section that you may find helpful -

I started out with one starch a day in Phase II (oatmeal) and gradually worked up to 2-3 a day (whole grain bread, brown or wild rice) over a period of weeks.
