Default Hey everyone! I Lost 20 pounds in 3 months!

Hey everyone! I'm new and wanted to introduce myself! My name is Jamie and I've always been one that hates going the gym. I've gone through many gym memberships that I never used. I decided I wanted to dedicate 90 days to working out by doing Exercise DVDS at home and see what results I would get....So I started exercising 6 days a week and I give up all fast food, alcohol, and junk food. I lost 20 pounds in 3 months by doing this and my results have been amazing!! But I still would occasionally, eat sweets but I never drank alcohol or ate fast food....Lately, I have fallen off the wagon....let me tell you stay away from fast food....you seem to crave it once you have it! It's such bad news! I never craved it the whole 3 months but for the past week that's all I've been craving since I ate at Mcdonalds....so I need a little boost to get back on the program...I can't let all my hard work go to waste! hahaha

Welcome Jamie,

So, which exercise videos did you work out with. Tell us some more about you.

wow--- you've just given me the motivation to keep doing what i'm doing --- with the workout dvds=== so which ones do you recommend??? i've been at it for a little over a month and have lost 5lbs thus far== its just so frustrating sometimes-- cause i come on here and i'm like all of these other people are losing like pounds a week and i'm barely losing a few ounces or bouncing up and down with it --- ehh!!!

so did you do portion control or counting calories with your workouts ???

also as a side note--- how much do you weigh if you don't mind so that we can get a comparison with height too!

Hey my name is Jamie too! ^_^... well don't feel so bad dear we all fall of the wagon sometimes. The most important thing is getting back up when we fall.

Don't concentrate on what has happened but instead what you can do NOW. ... You can do anything you put your mind to and I know how tempting those fast food places are .

It's hard to resist temptation but just remember your goal and it should stick. Usually what I think of when I get fast food is "Does my body really need this?".
Nowadays usually all I get is Subway (though ocassionally I have snuck in an A&W or 2.) . If I do happen to go to subway I will limit myself as well with only getting a certain sub ( my fav is turkey ) and I will only get 6 inch.

The only problem with fast food is usually it does not have as much nutrients as your body needs... and I find for me anyway once I have it (or even just pop) it seems to drag me down. So I guess one more thing that can be motivating is eating foods that make you FEEL good ^_^.

In any case, hang in there girl. You can do it!

I'm 5'6 and started at 145 and weigh 125 now after three months....I mostly did power 90....and would add the firm workouts and Billy Blanks bootcamp dvd's into the mix if I got bored with power 90...I would alternate strength training with cardio every other day 6 days a week.

I didn't really do portion control or count my calories...I did eat a lot of lean cuisines though...corn on the cob, and cereal even though cereal isn't necessarily good it was a way for me to still get something sweet.

I made a lot of low-fat fruit smoothies:
* 1/2 banana
* 1 Dannon Light & Fit yogurt (only 60 calories–try blueberry, cherry, peach, strawberry)
* about 1 cup of frozen strawberries
* 3-4 slices of frozen peaches

This recipe makes about 2 cups and is approx. 165 calories and it is delicious!!

I also eat sugar free chocolate pudding with 1/2 a banana or raspberries or strawberries.

I thought about trying the P90X, but I think right now I am too out of shape. I have considered doing Power 90 or Turbo Jam instead. Was the Power 90 difficult for you at first?

Yes when I first started power 90 I thought it was hard I took a few breaks in between but after 2 weeks I moved to cardio 3-4 but I stuck with the sculpt 1-2 until 45 days then I switched to sculpt 3-4....and when I did cardio 3-4 I thought I was going to die at first but I think it's super easy now and don't even have to take breaks....if you stick with it and keep going you won't even have to stop you'll be able to keep going until tony gives you a break...I have the turbo jam dvds they are fun because shes really upbeat and motivating....

Yeah if I were you I would do power 90 before 90x because 90x is really intense....I wan't 90x but I think i'm going to do billy blanks bootcamp for 90 days and see what type of results I get from that....that's really really intense! hahah I'm going to ask for 90x for x-mas i'll let you know what I think about it once I start my routine!

Just remember exercise will get much easier and more enjoyable the more you do it! Sooo keep up the great work and you will see amazing results!!!

I think you should go for it...I do the billy blanks bootcamp but i just bought the elite cardio and lower body elite training to mix in with my other billy blanks bootcamp...it's still hard for me but it will get much easier and I feel great after the work out....I heard you can burn over 600 calories in his workouts....you should add one of his dvd's into your regular workout routine once a week and i think that will help you get into the groove, also just pause it if you need a break-go at our pace and just work your way up!! ....I really like his abs workout it was super hard at first but its easier....it's still not easy but it's def. easier lol....sometime when I do the twists my side starts to hurt so I pause it for a sec, then start up again. The pain will go away, trust me! Keep up the great work!!! What dvd's do you do right now?

Nice going. I'm new here and just looking around to see what kind of diet to go on . I think my problem is I HAVE to stay AWAY from carbs. But I know I'll find something that fit me. I did start to drink more water and walk more . keep thinking positive is the key. You are your own teacher I believe. Your the only one that KNOWS what your body can handle. Advise from all is SO helpful, and with that new friends. Have a successfull year.
