Wow, I can't believe it's already Friday. The boss told me the first day, it's 8, it's 5, and boy, she wasn't kidding! It's so busy there, I haven't had a 15 min break all week, only the lunches! Its definitely a challenge, lots to learn. I love it!
Anyway, Cody was an escape artist again yesterday. When I arrived home he was not in the crate last night. hhmmmm...... Me thinks me is hosting a ghost!
The last couple days I was NOT on plan. . I will be planning a menu tonight. I have to go to town to bring the baby's to the vet and want to pick up what I need for the week. No clue what to make! I'll worry bout that tonight since I have such a busy day today.
You wont be seeing me peek in through out the day at all since they have us locked out of everything! I can't even look at my bank statement on lunch hour! It's unreal! But I do like the job! Although my boss doesn't explain too well some of the tasks she asks me to do. .
I sure do miss you all! And look forward to spending some time here over the weekend!
Thanks for starting us up today, LORI, and it's nice to see you! I know you've been busy getting settled into your new job, and I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying it. I know what you mean about not being able to check in here during the workday. Cindy said I'm free to use her computer whenever I want, but I just feel funny when I use it. I feel she's paying me to work, not to play.
So far it's looking like a pretty laid-back day for me. I have to meet Maggie's bus at noon, and if it's not raining she wants to go horseback riding. Jake and I are thinking of doing a little Christmas shopping this evening. A favorite toy store is having 25% off sale between 7 and 9 pm, and we want to get the grandkids more Calico Critters to add to their collections. We hope to find something nice there for Tyler, too.
Mmmmm, my coffee is especially good this morning. Come sit down and share a cup with me before you start your day.
Good morning! It's so foggy this morning I can't see across the road. It's like living in a pail of milk!
Bailey Pyper is coming for a visit this morning while her parents and the kids go to Toronto to see ACDC. They will be back to pick her up around 4 AM tomorrow. There is not a hotel room to be had in The Big Smoke because of the concert, a hockey game and the Royal Winter Fair! It'll be nice to have a Portuguese Water Dog in the house again.
Yesterday was busy again but I did get some of the blasted leaves done. I went to town in the morning and bought a new toy - one of those leaf blower thingies. It sure moves leaves fast! There will be more to deal with today if we don't get rain. Wet leaves sure don't blow!
Time to get coffee and crank up TGIF. Hope your day is great.
Good morning! It's so foggy this morning I can't see across the road. It's like living in a pail of milk!
What a vivid description of that fog, RUTH! I can just imagine you out there with that leaf blower. Look out, everybody! Jake wants to get out and do some leaf-blowing himself, this weekend. It's not looking too good for it, though, since those leaves are pretty wet and soggy. Most of the trees are bare in the front yard, but we still have lots of leaves on the trees in the back. We have 11 trees in our yard, and around this time every year Jake keeps threatening to cut them all down. I'll never let that happen, I love each and every one of them.
Lori- yeah they lock down alot of work stations now because too many people abused. Sounds like you are super busy but that is great.
Cottage: Have a good Friday and Happy Birthday
Ruth- I remember fog like that- have a good day
As for me started work early so that I could get home by 4 so we can leave for Branson, so I will MIA until next Wednesday.
I tried rubbing the kitten with a dryer sheet and that seemed to work for the breakout but my eyes are still blood shot red -I refuse to have to take allergy pills to keep a kitten. May have to have a friend keep her at her house for me and we can go visit.
We mulch a lot of our leaves for winter garden cover. Of course we are way behind on that and it's supposed to rain this weekend.
I'm off to the office today. Next week I'm only working 3 days, so something to look forward to. I took the Tuesday holiday to meet my Mom for thrifting and Friday for DP's photography show and sale down at the coast. Which reminds me - gotta get a hotel room!
Lori - I'm glad the job is going well and it paid to wait for the right one See you this weekend!
Cottage - I have to admit that on slow days I sometimes load 3FC while doing other things. What are Calico Critters? I'll have to look those up.
Ruth - You aren't going to the ACDC show?? Have fun with the doggie visitor.
Good Morning all! No time for personals but looks like everyone will have a nice day. Its raining here yuck. I am going into work an hour late this morning for lack of appointments. I will say though, yesterday was suprisingly busy... Hopefully today will shape up to be the same! Well, I better go get another cup of coffee down and get dressed... *yawn* Rainy days are sooooo hard for me to get up and moving!
Lori - unfortunately more and more companies are locking their computers to anything non-work related Glad you love the job!
Cottage - Happy Birthday! Have fun toy shopping.....I love toy shopping!
Ruth - Leaf blowers definitely make leaf removal more fun!
Pearl - sorry the kitty is still giving you issues. Have fun in Branson!
Cyndi - Morning! Have a great day. Tuesday holiday?
-
DH only works for an hour today so we're trying to meet up with MIL for lunch.
It's Friday and I need to figure out if we're going to have movie night or if we're going to go to Barnes and Noble to play with trains and read. Beyond that I have to figure out what we are having for dinner!
Invited FIL over for dinner on Sunday - he's been living on cereal and peanut butter sandwiches (apparently he did need MIL for something!) and gladly accepted the offer. I'm making lasagna and plan to make two to put one away for post-baby meals.
No nightmares for DS last night so we slept soundly.
AH TGIF indeed, I FINALLY had a productive day at work yesterday. Came in told the boss it was going to be a positive attitude day and anyone that couldn't comply could go home (meaning him). He put on his best face and although I sensed some sarcasm in his voice he was actually half way decent to deal with all day. Now to make today more of the same!
As far as the move goes, I am not as ready as I would like to be and a tad bit worried I can't reach the landlord this morning to firm up the final details (like getting keys!). Lord willing this time tomorrow I will have the U-haul loaded and be on our way!
I do hope everyone has a great Friday, I will probably check back in later.
Lori - Good to hear that they're keeping you busy! I'm sure it makes the day fly.
Cottage - Sounds like a nice day ahead. Have fun shopping this evening w/ dh!
Ruth - So nice to allow Disney to have a sleepover. I'm sure she'll appreciate the company. Hope the fog dies down soon!
Pearlrose - Hey there!!! Have a great time in Branson. And I hope everything gets figured out with the kitty!!!
Cyndi - Dp has a show next weekend?!?!?! That's great! I wish her the best. Have a good day at work!
Rikki - Good to hear that you were busy at work yesterday! Here's hoping there's more of the same today!!!
Zeff - How nice for dh that he only has 1 hour of work today! Have a great weekend with your family.
Gonna - Redoing the living room sounds daunting! Good luck getting it all done!
Stephanie - Glad to hear that things were better yesterday at work. I hope the shift continues today!
Me - I'm so looking forward to this four day weekend. It should be lots of fun going and being with old friends. She's also very health conscious, so I should eat fairly healthfully this weekend. Taking the pups up to my Mom's tonight and flying out bright and early.
Can I get someone to start up the dinner thread next week, as I don't think I'll be checking in until Tuesday night?
Have a fantastic FRIDAY!!!
BLESSINGS!!!!
Cyndi - Morning! Have a great day. Tuesday holiday?
Veteran's Day.
Despite the phone ringing off the hook all morning, I managed to do a thorough cleaning of the house and balanced the checkbook. So it's been a productive day so far. I'm meeting a friend for lunch after Maggie gets home, and Jake called to tell me to beg Cindy to let me leave a little earlier. He won't say why.
Have a great trip, HEATHER! Don't worry, I'll make sure I get the new "What's For Dinner" thread started for you!

Loriann: I'm so glad that the new job is going well and is keeping you busy. It stinks that you can't peek in throughout the day, but I also understand the need for strict internet policies in the office. Hope you have a great day and figure out your meal plan!
Cottage: Enjoy your Christmas shopping! It really is a blessing to to get it all out of the way sooner than later. I feel like I really get to enjoy the season when I'm not worrying about the perfect gift I still have to get! Enjoy your day!
Ruth: Can I borrow your leaf blower? We've had such and uncharacteristically fast that all the stores in town have sold out. Okay, okay. I mean the two stores in town have sold out! Enjoy your time with Bailey. I'm sure she's glad to be missing out on the ACDC concert!
Pearl: That is a bummer about the kitty. DH and I are both allergic so we're hoping any future kids never want one. I hope you have a great time in Branson. I really enjoyed it when we went! Hope you get out of work on time!
Cyndi: Sounds like you have a full week planned next week. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun, though!
rdw1: I know what you mean! Nothing is better than laying in bed all morning when it rains. I hope your day at work is busy!
Zeffryn: I'm glad you all got a good night's sleep last night. Books and trains at Barnes and Noble? Sounds like the perfect Friday night!
Gonna: Good luck getting everything in the room taken care of!
Stephanie: Wow, you're really down to the wire on getting the keys aren't you? That stinks! I hope you can get a hold of the landlord quickly. Enjoy your positive day!
Heather: A weekend with old friends sounds lovely. Enjoy your time with them and I hope you have a comfortable journey to and from!
Me: Not much going on here. Woke up at 4 a.m. coughing and sneezing, so I decided to take some Sudafed PE. Apparently it was not the non-drowsy kind and I'm feeling drowsy. To make matters worse, TOM showed up this morning. A week early, I'm pretty sure. That stinks, but what can a girl do?
In my drug-induced haze I also forgot to take the dogs to the vet's for the weekend. They had to be there early because they have to have their shots before going back to the kennels. Thankfully DH was understanding and just left his office to take them in. I'm hoping to be out of here by noon today so that I can finish packing and clean up the house a bit before leaving for our Christmas shopping weekend. I'll make it, right? I hope so!!
Good Morning, it's Friday! I'm not totally swamped today so I thought I would join you all for a late coffee this morning.
Loriann - It is so hard to adjust to a new job and schedule. Hopefully you'll be back on track before you know it.
Cottage - You are smart to start your Christmas shopping early.
Ruth - Have fun dogsitting! Portuguese water dogs are great.
Pearlrose - I'm' sorry you are still having problems with your kitten. I hope it works out with your friend.
Rikki - It's rainy here, too. (I'm in KY) Looks our great 70 degree weather is going bye bye.
Zeffryn - Have fun tonight.
Pacergal - Good attitude = A good day. Good luck with your move.
Heather - Have fun on your 4-day weekend.
I am having a good day so far. One, because it's Friday and two, I finally got to wear this cute winter dress I bought a few weeks ago. A dress that I wouldn't dare wear last winter, pre-SBD, because it would have looked like a tent. It got too hot last week to wear it. Tonight is date night with my husband but we haven't decided where we're going yet. It's always a hard decision.
