I don't want to discuss GAS, but since you brought it up.......LOL!!!! OMG! I've probably said this before but my DH has threatened to call the police and have me charged with attempted murder!! LOL!! I went camping with my family in October and I couldn't go anywhere near the camp fire for fear that I turn into a human flame-thrower! It is disgusting. Besides being cold, this is the other sided effect that I hate. There is "evidence" that I don't chew my food well enough and I have a theory that food not well chewed sets in your shortened bowel and ferments and the rest is history......... I have tried everything, beano, gasX, etc. and nothing seems to help. Yes, I did have a little problem before surgery, but cripes......... The noise level is tremendous and I'm never sure when it is going to happen. Now a story about my gas problem: I went to Goodwill with my family. I was following my son around and of course......I was so embarrassed.....then the worker walked around the end-cap, went running up to the front register and said "DUDE" to the other kid and kept looking back there. I decided to move on and just forget about it, and of course everyone had already scattered in my family. So I went about my business and just like labor pains, every two minutes....I was 30 feet from my rest of my family and of course eruptous-fartous. Their heads all snapped around and stared in horror and the place reeked. I probably can't go back there. They all took off for the door and I was left all alone suffering in my not so usual quiet way. It is embarrassing and awful. I'm not a crier, but get mad as a hornet because I haven't found a way to keep it gone.
Any hints or suggestions are welcome. Don't even get me started on stretching out in bed when I retire........

Have you tried taking a good probiotic? This won't necessarily help with the amount of gas but can possibly help with the potent smell (not that it will ever smell like roses...).

Thanks for the hope Magi! My family is threatening to send me to FA (farters anonymous) if things don't change.

I was in such misery yesterday and so was my family. It doesn't matter if it is carbs or protein........I'm a gaser It was hideous. We had an early Thanksgiving dinner and I swear I stayed with my eating plan with the exception of a few black olives and a couple of cukes. I hate it. My family runs from me. I don't mean to be crude, but I announced to my family that I had gas and was going to say "Excuse me now one time and that I was sorry." Fortunately, some of my family have the same problem, but not as loud or deadly.

I do probotics, eat yogurt with life bacteria, take gasX and exercise.....what else is left?

My seven year old grandson thinks I'm awesome and wants to know how I do it!
Seven year olds!!!!!

Could be that you've become lactose intolerant. It happens to a lot of people after major weight loss surgery.

I love milk and cheese and stuff....I hope that is not it. I really don't think it is though...I get the same reaction from drinking crystal light too lol

lactose intolerance can be a temperary thing. Some of us that have had surgery have this reaction at first and after time it settles down to a low roar! LOL

What you can't eat during the first 3-6 months, you may be able to eat in later.

OMG....the gas is awful. My DD and DS about die. I am afraid to get intimate with my bf for fear of farting on him. It is so disgustingly smelly, I am not quite sure why I have not died from it. and please do not strike any matches.
