Default Hi Im New

Hi Everyone!
I am new to 3FC...I am trying something new to try to motivate myself and to keep myself on the weight loss track...I just had my second child in July and when I weighed myself 1 1/2 weeks after having him i was 207 pounds..2 weeks ago I was very excited to weigh in at 187..a wonderful 20 pounds off...then came my birthday and a cake from my husband and a night out to dinner and i really have been off since then for the past 2 weeks...i gained 4 punds as a result and I am very mad at myself but at times i feel like i dont care...
Now I am trying to get back into the swing of things.. i was counting points but now i am wondering if i should start counting caories? Any suggestions?
I am a mother of 2 as i said, to a 3 year old and a 4 month old... i am faithful to going to the gym and bringing my kids to the daycare there, i work full time as a nurse and have been with my husband for 9 years now. When i met him I was about 145-150lbs and now 191. I dont know how i got to letting myself go but i really am not happy with how i look. As we all do...we want instant results and i know that is not possible...

Any suggestions as far as what kind of plan i should stick to and what i should be doing at the gym..i have no problem doing cardio. i can jog about 1.5 miles, do the eliptical, walk etc...Weight training is what i dont enjoy. and i guess what i dont know much about..Maybe I should get a personal trainer but i really cant afford it!

I am interested to see the support i can gain from this site and I really hope i can get to the weight i have been saying i want to be for so many many years

I think walking, or jogging is great. If you can walk one mile now, then next week kick it up to 1 1/2 mile. 1,500 or 1,600 calories is usually a good starting point for calories... you just have to listen to your body, also changing what you eat is definitely the biggest thing. Which is also the hardest. Whole wheat bread really fills me up, cutting out all your bad carbs and having good carbs instead. Adding more fruits and veggies. There is SO much information on this website if you look, its really awesome!! There is also a portion of the site that reviews different diet plans and different books Its great.

Hope you love this site as much as I do. Its great having friends who understand!

You can do it!

Thanks so very much for the help and inspiration.. I am very confused with this site..i dont really know how to use it.. i know how to search for things on the site and to post things and reply...as you know but i dont know how to find out if someone replied to one of my postings without actually going back to what i posted after searching for the title i entered...is there an easier way? Also i know htat it takes 20 days and 20 entries for a ticker but is there a way to enter in weights before then? I think i am going with calorie counting and i will exercise my butt off at the gym thanks..please help me navigate this site

AS22 also you can click on 'Quick Links' at the top of the page, then click 'My Profile'. On your profile towards the bottom is two links, one is Find My Posts and Find My Threads (something like that) if you click on those you can go back to all the posts or threads yuo have made!!

I do this a lot, it's great

Good luck!!

Hello AS22 and Emmy and welcome to 3FC! I'm glad you found us! I am really lousy with navigating this website I just surf everything till I find something interesting. I really think you will both love this site. There are some great inspirational stories in the goal section. And plenty of eating plans to look at and consider. just remember AS22 that if your counting calories you need to make sure your getting enough and if your working out hard you need to eat more. There are a few sites that can help you determine what your daily caloric intake should be so you might want to check them out. the ones I know of are fitday and thedailyplate and caloriecount. I hope some of these help you out and that you both enjoy your journey and hope to see you around. Good luck!
