Just wondering how you all came through this ghoulish evening??? I was ok- I wasn't going to cheat at all, then had to go buy more candy- we probably had about 80+ trick or treaters!!! Anywho i got some of those hershey miniatures and did eat 2 of the mini dark chocolate ones... and man they seemed sweet- funny how different things taste when you aren't used to eating them! No more of that- wasn't near as good as some of the REAL dark chocolate I have had!
We had perhaps 75 trick or treaters last night. There were some really cute and creative costumes! I'm happy to report that I didn't eat any candy at all. I wasn't even tempted.
I didn't come into contact with any candy. This year my kids didn't go trick or treating and I didn't open the door. But I have a thing for tootsie rolls though. Maybe next year.
I feel like Garfield from his Halloween special. Caaaaaaaaaandy candycandycandycandycandy.
Went trick-or-treating last night and Little Guy made out like a bandit! He didn't even get any of the candy that I like (Butterfinger and Reese's PB Cups) so
When I opened a bag of Reese's candy it smelled so good! Love peanut butter and chocolate together. But I'm happy to say I didn't eat any. Gave it all away!
I decided to try one of the mini butterfingers. Now, mini's to me have 4-5 bites. I thought, I'm maintaining well...and I used to LOVVVVE them.
First bite: UGH! That's sweet! And not much flavor? WHat flavor was it supposed to be that I used to love it so much?
Second bite: Just to make sure I wasn't nuts. Nope, not worth cheating to me.
Then handed it to my husband who told me I was crazy .
WOW. I didn't like a candy bar!!!
PS - I think my husband intentionally didn't buy stuff I might steal....Reese's cups and snickers. Probably a wise move on his part
I had the same thing (the mini Butterfinger). Actually, I liked it, but ... I had NO desire for a second one, and those things are small. I don't even want one today
I intentionally bought candy I didn't like so if I didn't have many trick-or-treaters I wouldn't be tempted to have any. This is the first year that I had enough trick or treaters and ran out of candy.
I did have a small slice of cake at a party though.
You guys all did great! It was Day 0 for me yesterday so I binged like there was no tomorrow. It's Day 1 , well, it's almost Day 2 and I am happy to say that I didn't eat anything that isn't allowed during Ph1. Didn't crave any either. We have so much candy left over it's ridiculous. I'll have my dh take most of it to work.
I avoided candy like the plague during this whole month- at work we candy everywhere, when I went to class I had friends offering me candy, the only refugee was my house.... I didn't buy any candy. I we don't get trick or treaters in my apartment building.
The only negative is after avoiding the candy I accidently ate sugar.... I had an upset stomach so I ate a few tums alright, I like tums so it was a lot- 10.... The downside is that there is 1 g of sugar for ever 2 tums... It made me sad.... Grrrrrr Damn Tums!
It sounds like most of you were had a successful holiday.
I didn't eat any candy at all, or sugar. However, while taking my kids around on Friday night, I got kind of sick-feeling...the same kind of sick-feeling I used to get while eating too much sugar. It was like a contact sugar-high or something And then the next morning I still felt icky! It was pretty weird.
Getting past the candy was not really hard for me. If I just don't start eating sugar, I don't want it at all. And knowing how it makes me feel just turns me off of it.
I bought candy that only DH and kids like, nothing that tempts me, but I caved and had a few pieces of DD2 candy bite size that she got- and I paid for it a couple hours later, felt totally crummy with a stomache. Learned my lesson, so I have not even been tempted since.
