I've been on the Zone diet since January (with the help of Phentermine). Lost 30 pounds. Would like to lose at least 20 more. I don't follow it exactly. I started out carefully watching my gram counts of carbs, protein & fats. I adapted it to equal protein & carbs grams and 1/2 the grams of fat. Keeping under 30 grames for protein & carbs. I lost weight pretty quickly. I'm pretty much in a routine now. Basically I've cut out eating breads, potato, pasta & rice very often. And try to include protein and some fat in each meal. I'm really into Balance outdoors bars for breakfast (chocolate makes me stomach feel bad in the morning and the outdoors bars are nutty) and Balance Gold, chocolate caramel nut bars for a snack. I think they're better than Zone bars and are 40-30-30. I feel like I've changed my eating habits, but I must admit the appetite suppresant helps. I'm hoping I can keep it up with out it. My weight loss has slowed, but I figure that's good. From many years of experience I know quick weight loss means even quicker gain. One of the best things is a feel so much better. Now that I'm not eating a diet heavy on carbs and fat, I don't have indigestion, heartburn, that full, uncomfortable sluggish feeling. I am very aware of my stomach when I do eat sweets. But I don't deprive myself. Just try to do it in moderation and not as often. Actually ate a Krispy Kreme donut this morning. But, just one, and ate balanced meals the rest of the day. I've tried just about every diet before. I know carbs are an issue for me. This doesn't eliminate them completely, so I don't feel too deprived. But again, I have to mention I'm taking phentermine....could I stick to the zone without it. Hate to say it, but from past experience, I doubt it. Have to be honest. Keep telling my self, maybe it will be different this time and I'm really changing my eating REALLY changing my eating habits this time. Oops I'm rambling. Good luck!
