Default Another board I'm on is Crash Diet-o-rama!!

I'm a member of another board that's primarily a group of moms chatting about their kids etc...

Lately there has been this HUGE rash of posts about diet pills and insane crash dieting. Everyone is high fiving each other for eating 500 cals a day etc. UGH! I posted on a few of the threads that what they're doing is not healthy but that's just making everyone hate me!

I hate to see them do this to themselves. I've been there done that and gained the weight right on back (obviously or I wouldn't be back here again).

It's just driving me insane!

Sounds like you might just want to avoid that page.

Wow. That's INSANELY too bad! 500 calories a day!?

...what's this board? I wanna go make myself unpopular by explaining starvation mode, and why they're never gonna be able to keep that weight off.... >.<

LOL It's a by invitation board only and I think they'd hate me more if I invited you lovely ladies to go harp on them too .

I love the community I just wish they'd stop wrecking their bodies!

They probably look at me and think "Why is this fat chick telling us what to do?!" OY.

Ahhh, exclusive how-to-form-an-eating-disorder-boards. Too bad, lol. Yeah, if I were you, I'd avoid that board for the sake of frustration, and watching people hurt themselves.

I hope you promote 3FC, though! Maybe some of them will check it out, and benefit greatly from the healthy support we give here...

I thought about everyone realized by now that crash diets don't work (at least, not in the way you'd like them to). And that dieting is more about lifestyle changes and less about drastic measures. I suppose they'll find out soon enough...

I think the only way they are going to realize that its bad for them is if they would have to just see for themselves hopefully they will learn from there mistakes

The sad thing there is I really doubt this is the first time around with this stuff for most of them. Sadly, people often don't learn, or not for a long time.

I think my favourite thing about this forum is that when someone makes a post like,
"Omigod, I feel so crappy, I ate a ton of junk last night... BUT I skipped breakfast and am gonna have a light lunch and go for a run tonight!"
everyone is really supportive... but almost EVERYONE adds in-- don't skip breakfast, your body needs the calories to function. "Kudos!"-ing each other over things like.. 500 calories a day, or skipping meals is a little sick. :s
