Well, unless your physician actually sits down and WATCHES the Turbo Jam dvd...they really are not going to be able to tell you if it is okay or not. They are not going to know every single exercise that is in that particular workout.
Seriously.
Some of your best bets are going to be:
~Walking (treadmill or outdoors)
~Swimming
~PRENATAL exercise classes or dvds-these are going to be movements that are PROVEN to be safe for pregnant women.
I exercised throughout my entire pregnancies up until delivery...and basically some of the guidelines that you want to follow when pregnant are:
~NO back lying abdominal work (such as lying on your back and doing crunches)
~NO sharp kicking/jabbing type of movements (like kickboxing, Tae Bo, etc.)
~It is good in pregnancy to stay fit, and to get exercise, but it isn't the time to PUSH yourself...meaning, if you didn't run 5K's when you were NOT pregnant, it isn't the time to try. You want to think of staying at your current fitness level and maintaining that, not getting FITTER and pushing it.
Some of my favorite dvds during my most recent pregnancy were:
~Crunch: Yoga Mama (I loved this one, kept me much more limber, and eased my back pain in the third trimester)
~Quick Fix Prenatal Workout (This one is a strength training dvd, in 3 10 minute segments: upper body, lower body, and core. Rather than focusing on crunches and things that pregnant women shouldn't do, it focused on other ab exercises, and kegal exercises to prepare your core for delivery.)
These were just a few of my favorites.
