Default Slowing Slipping away....I don't mean the pounds

When I started counting calories I was really on a roll. I was exercising at least 5 days a week and completely dedicated.

Then, I went away for a weekend and then got sick. I've had such a dry, hacking cough that I can hardly take deep breathes without going into a spasm...which makes it difficult to exercise. Now, we may be moving (which O'm excited about), but that's just a whole other stresser.

I weighed myself and I haven't gained, haven't lost, even though I've been eating like a cow (not as big of a cow as I've done in the past).

So, I see what's happening here and it makes me nervous. I so want to lose and feel great. I can't do much about the breathing right now (the winds here in CA are making it worse), so I can't exercise, but I can count calories..... but it's just so hard for some reason.

My body just wants to store up fat for winter.

Okay, I'll work for a better day tomorrow.

EDIT: I meant Slowly Slipping

Relax, be gentle with yourself. If you are not gaining weight, than you are doing awesome. I would suggest concentrate on maintaining and getting better and than go back to working on losing weight. I've gotten sick since I started this journey and there is no way I could have worked out or worried about losing weight. I just wanted to sleep and get better. Events happen in life, now is a great way to learn how to live through them and eat healthy all at once!

I'm where you are - and getting sick is what did me in. Got a cough, too, and felt so bad and so wasted that I stopped counting calories because I didn't have energy. But I'm not going to give up, and neither should you! Once I feel better (and I hope one more night of good sleep will do it for me!), I'm back to counting calories. I just do NOT want to stay at this weight anymore!

I just got over the sick 3 day weekend and today will be my first day back to the gym since Thursday-so hard to do. The weather is grey and rainy and the universe is telling me to insulate for winter, yet I'm trying to strip it away! It will get better. Just focus on your goal!

Not exercising because you are sick is not the end of the world. However, you need to become more diligent about your eating.
I am a firm believer in planning things out. That helps me stay in control, or get *back* in control when I start to backslide.

Write down what you plan on eating tomorrow. Don't worry about the exercise until you are healthy - but you do have control over what goes into your mouth.
Feel well soon!

Being sick is awful because you cant get up to move around as much. I was on a real roll with working out every day, and then i broke my leg... not only was I in bed, but people were bringing me cookies and cakes as presents!! just goes to show. Don't give up.

I am so with you. I am sick too, and have lung butter issues so working out is out of the question. especially with a horrible sinus headache to boot. But, don't consider it an excuse to eat bad. I've been managing to at least stay on track with my eating plan, because I PLAN. Thats the most important thing for me, to have the foods I need and to plan when I will eat them. Takes the stress out of food.
