Karen-so glad you are back and your mother is getting better. As for the eating, I am sure the stress you were under had something to do with it. You are back, mom is better and now you can concentrate on You for awhile and get back on track and just remember we are all here for you.
Karen-I am sorry about Mikes dad, my aunt is in a "hospital" now with dimensia and alzheimers (spelling on both?). It is really sad to see her, I know it kills my mother to go visit her. He is lucky to have both of you.
Judy-Glad PT is going well for you. I am so excited to get back to working out. Hope you enjoyed the weekend.
Carla-Good luck at dentist, I hope Ana does well.
Angie-I hope you also enjoyed your weekend.
Jennifa-nice to hear from you and that you are still doing well with your plan.
Pat-Hi to you too.
My weekend was ok, still in a little bit of pain. My inlaws came down from Canada to visit, my FIL 80th b-day. My husband and brothers did our roof and I spent a lot of time picking up shingles and nails from yard.
Did not do so good food wise, a lot of ordering pizza and subs for the guys. I will probably pay for it at weigh in. Have not been in 3 weeks Stupid me, I am just dragging this Lifetime thing out.
I did go shopping after cleaning out my closet and giving away most of my "fat" clothes. I kept some just in case, but I bought a size 6! I almost fainted, brought in a 10 and an 8 to try on, never thinking I could fit in a 6 but even the 8's were just too big. What an awesome feeling! That is a feeling I am wishing for all of you, whatever your goal is.
Have a great day
Karen C - I'm so glad that your mom is feeling better. Well, the thing about falling off the WW wagon is that we can get right back on - like Karen B says - we'll help haul ya' back on up. Jjust be sure you don't beat up on yourself - you've been under a lot of stress!
Karen B - I'm sorry to hear about your fil - that must be quite an adjustment and I'm sure that no matter how experienced you are dealing with people with dementia, it has to be harder when it's someone you know. I don't know what health care rules are like in Canada, but is there any way to have someone stay with him in the house when you are both away? I think the treadmill will do wonders for your frustration as will a walk by the river in beautiful spring weather.
Michele - I'm sorry to hear that you are still in a bit of pain. I'm sure it was nice to see your in-laws but maybe it was a bit too much? Hey, one weekend of pizza and subs does not wipe away all the work you've done - you have had a very stressful time and you'll get back to it. Size 6??? Wow!! That had to feel great!
I'm happy to report a little 0.2 loss - not as much as I would have liked but it's right before TOM and any loss is still a loss. I did OK over the weekend - not great but not awful. We bought some pansies yesterday so I did a little gardening which was great. This morning I did a 40 minutes step tape that had me dripping afterwards - I loved it!
Karen C - Good to ehar from you again. I'm so glad to hear that your mother is improving. I know that its a load off your mind. As for the wagon - you fell off, you can hop right back on. We're here to help.
Karen B - What a blessing you are to your FIL, and to Mike as well. It can't be easy to readjust your life like. Congrats on your maintain last week. That's a gread achievement in the midst of upheaval.
Michele - A size 6- that's terrific. Don't worry about the pizza and subs this weekend. As Judy said, they're not going to wipe everything away. Besides, picking up those shingles and nails had to have had some counter-effect. I hope you're entirely pain free soon.
Judy - Congrats on your loss. Definitely a move in the right direction and a true victory right before TOM. Sounds like your back in swing with some great workouts.
My weekend was ok. I did pretty well food-wise and Ana and I had fun. We'll see how today goes. She already managed to get a tape stuck in the VCR and the morning is young. And then there's the dentist yet to come! On the flip side, it is sunny and warm. It's supposed to hit the 80s today. So after the dentist we're going to the park. Hopeully Ana will get good and tired and I'lll be able to get her to sleep early! Have a great day.
Happy Motivated Monday! I hope everyone is off and running on a good note!
Michele- a size 6!!! WOW!! It had to be an incredible feeling to find out that the 8's were toooo big. I can't wait until I can share that feeling with you.
Judy- Way to go on your loss!! Hey, 0.2 is a BIG deal when it's TOM. Give yourself the pat on the back you deserve! I only saw 0.4# loss the two TOMS I've been through since Feb, but I see a NICE drop the next weigh in.
Carla- ooooh, how I hope the dental visit goes uneventful. How stressful. Sounds like Ana is reving up for the day....a tape in the VCR already?! Enjoy your weather today...we had it yesterday! My little blondie got sunburned because her dark haired mother forgot how fair skinned she is and that she burns long before Tony, Anthony or I do.
KarenC- climb right back up here! You just got knocked off for a bit when we went over a bump. Hang on tighter!! We're here for you
KarenB- congrats on your maintain with everything going on right now. How lucky your FIL is to have you and Mike.
Well, we enjoyed 76 yesterday and we are to be hitting 84 today! Spring has finally sprung here in the midwest! I've downed my 80 oz of water so far, but I'm starting to toggle back since my weigh in occurs in 4 hrs. I've stayed off the scale except for one time over the weekend. Just wanted to know what I weighed yesterday morning. Sure is a tough habit to break!
Angie
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome back and the hand up to the WW wagon, I got a laugh out of your comments. It truly is a relief to have Mums better at last, I was so afraid we would lose her this time.
Karen B, you must be an angel to do the work you do and then come home and do it some more. Hope everyone is settling in and settling down and the only uphill battle that you face is on the treadmill.
Michele, wow, nothing keeps you down! It sounds like you are right back to where you were before the surgery, good for you! The size 6 is amazing, congratulations!
Judy, congratulations on the loss and the workout. I'm glad you're feeling better and able to enjoy the exercise.
Carla, hope Ana did okay at the dentist and didn't get freaked out. I'll never forget one dentist that did some work on me when I was little, terrible experience!
Angie, hope the weighin went well. We're having spring weather too, I guess it's all springing up all over!
Did some marathon shopping this morning, found some cute red shoes, then had to get a purse to match. Also a couple of blouses, all because I wanted red shoes! After shopping, I met some girlfriends for lunch at a diner that opened recently. I had my once every few months cheeseburger and fries, but managed it well, so I think I've done okay pointswise, haven't figured it out yet. We split one dessert between the five of us and left quite a bit on the plate, so I feel like an angel today! I will start back to WW meetings next Monday, but am working really hard to journal and exercise. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Karen - your shopping trip sounds fabulous, and with five sharing a dessert and leftovers, you've hardly made a dent in your points! Welcome back onto the wagon...I'm back on the exercise wagon today, got up half an hour early and treadmilled.
Angie - good luck with your weighin...I envy your weather! It's cold wet and miserable here and has been for days.
Carla - hope you had a great day with Ana...lol re the VCR; brings back losts of toddler memories!
Michele - woo hoo on size 6's. I think I was 6 years old last time I fit a size 6! Great that you got your roof done on the w/e.
Judy - Judy - congrats on your loss! 0.2 is 0.2 in the right direction no matter what angle you look at it!
Pat - how's it going?
Not much new to report, other than getting in some treadmilling in. FIL is doing so far so good...doesn't have a clue how to work any of the appliances, so there's not much danger of him doing much harm. We have had him assessed by continuing care, and he will qualify for some home care if we find he needs it. He's not really ready for placement in a LTC facility yet, it's getting very very difficult to place folks when they do need it, though. I know Americans believe that Canada has a superior health care system, but it is no longer true. Anyway we'll take it one day at a time and see what happens.
Carla - I hope things went well at the dentist. I'm glad you had a good weekend with Ana and that food-wise things were under control. Yup, we've got the same warm weather - today is going to be high 80's and tomorrow it's supposed to hit 90!
Angie - Yup, spring has sprung here on the east coast too. I hope the scale was good to you. I have to admit that I stepped on the scale Sunday morning but I've avoided it since. Yes, it's a hard habit to break but 9 times out of 10 I'm *not* stepping on it so I think I'm doing well (as are you!)
Karen C - Sounds like a great shopping trip. Splitting a dessert 5 ways and leaving some on the plate? That's great. Good for you for journaling and exercising - you're back on that WW wagon for sure!
Karen B - Way to go for getting on that treadmill! I'm glad to hear that if he needs it, your FIL will qualify for some home care. In the meantime, I'm sure Mike knows how blessed he is to have you!
I had a pretty good day yesterday. I had PT in the afternoon - it was a tough session but I'm making progress so I'm not complaining. I had a bit too much bread at dinner last night so even though my snacking was fine, I ended my "half day" a little higher than I would have liked. I have a pretty low point breakfast and lunch though so I should be OK. I'd like to think that I'll get some exercising in today but since I'm in the office today and we be home on the later side this evening (and the house is bound to be pretty hot when I get home) I think today will be have to be chalked up to a rest day.
Have a great one and for those of us who are getting the heat today, stay cool!
Judy
KarenC- wow, your shopping spree started with a cute pair of red shoes! I'm patiently waiting to reach goal and then I'll splurge on a new wardrobe. I've been lucky- unlucky?- to hang on to my clothes as I got bigger. So, each time I lose I've got a whole new set of clothes I can wear. Only this time I'm removing the larger set from my possession after it's too big. There's no way I'm ever returning to the wt I presently am.
KarenB- You beat me today on the treadmill. I chose to sleep another hour this morning so I've got to do my tonight. It's kind of a black cloud kind of a deal becuz I know how lead-like my legs are going to feel. Maybe I should think of that feeling when I decide it's better to sleep longer than just getting up and getting my walk done.
Judy- enjoy the weather which is heading your way! We reached 91 yesterday and the kids were in the sprinkler. Heaven! Still suppose to be about 85 today so we're in the summer mode for one more day. Good to hear about your PT progress.
I lost 0.4# last night so I didn't hit my 20# mark. I was tempted to take off jewelry, socks whatever to get the 0.2#, but figured I was only cheating myself. So, back to the program we go and hopefully I will achieve both my 20# star and my 10% goal (21#) next week. Have a great day!
Angie
Karen B, good for you for exercising early. Me too! I'm doing half early and then half later when Garrott gets up.
Judy, glad you had a productive PT session. I can sure empathise with you. My shoulder is about 80% better, but lately it has been quite painful so I'm rethinking my decision about not seeing the ortho guy. I just hate to have surgery, especially after all I have gone through with my mother.
Angie, congratulations on the loss! Just think of the 20 pounds soon to be gone and the 10% goal when you get home and that should make it easier to jump on the treadmill. Yes, the shopping was fun, first red shoes I've ever owned! I am trying to buy just a few clothes to make it through until I reach goal (I've lost 5 sizes), but since my shoe size won't change, I'm buying lots of them! Fun, fun, fun.
Last night was disaster, but could have been worse. Today is another, better day and tonight will be great! How's that for postive thinking? Have a great day and night!
Angie - Congratulations on losing the 0.4! I know you must be a little disappointed not to have reached the 20# but I think you are right - you'll get 2 things next week, a keychain and a star! I haven't been outside since this morning but I saw someone who said it is hot and humid out - yuck! The worst of it is that tomorrow is supposed to be hotter, meaning the subway platforms will be worse. I'm looking forward to spring coming back at the end of the week.
Karen C - Sorry to hear about last night but I like your positive thinking - today IS a new day and another opportunity to be OP! 5 sizes lost???? That's fantastic! I forget, did you have PT for your shoulder? The reason I ask is that going to an ortho doesn't necessarily mean surgery. My ortho wanted to go the PT route rather than surgery.
Pat - how are you??
Well, keep your fingers crossed for me - a big demo I was going to do this afternoon got cancelled late this morning. Possible re-schedule dates are this Friday (when normally I'd be telecommuting) or next Tuesday (when I might be on jury duty - I have to call this Friday evening to see about Monday and probably on Mon evening as well if I don't have to go to court Monday). I was really looking forward to working from home this Friday and also have a PT session scheduled for that afternoon. If it does look like Friday, I think I'm going to try to do some kind of exercise this evening - maybe an abs workout - if I go into the city of Friday, I know I'm going to want to just relax when I get home.
Angie - We did enjoy the weather yesterday, that's for sure. We went to the park after the dentist appointment and this negligent mommy didn't put suncreen on her child. Luckily Ana doesn't burn, but we still slather her up in the summer. Congrats on your loss. You'll get that other 0.2 and more next week.
Karen C - A shopping spree that includes red shoes sounds marvelous. Sounds like you managed your lunch very well. How terrific that you're down five sizes! That makes shopping not only a great reward, but a great motivator too, I bet.
Karen B - This is the first time Ana jammed the VCR. It was bound to happen sooner or later, I suppose. Good to hear you're still treadmilling.
Judy - I'm glad to hear you're making progress with PT. I'll keep my fingers, and everything else I can cross, crossed that you don't have to go into the city on Friday. What happens if the demo gets rescheduled for Tuesday and you find out you have to go in for jury duty?
Ana handled the dentist visit really well. The news was what I expected. She has 8 molars that have some degree of enamal erosion and, in some cases, caveties. She will need crowns on six of them. They'll put her under and do them all at once and get some xrays at the same time. (She's missing one tooth in front and has two teeth that fused together. The dentist wants to check out what's happening under the surface.) I hate the thoughts of her being anesthesized, but as the molars will be in place for several more years, it must be done.
Foodwise, I've done pretty good the last few days, but the week's been a mixed bag, so I don't expect great things at the scale tomorrow, especially since its heading into PMS time. On a happier note, when I did my shopping, I found both the WW and the Skinny Cow brand of ice cream sundae cups (kind of like dixie cups) and have road tested both. I got the Pbutter and chocolate WW cups and they were good. The Skinny Cow vanilla and chocolate were even better - the ice cream was really creamy. Both brands are 2 points and I'd highly recommend them.
Judy, you know what "they" say...the best laid plans. Oh well, hope you get it rescheduled for a time that's convenient for you. Yep, I had PT for 6 months until my insurance stopped paying, then I paid myself for therapeutic massage which I felt did more harm than good. My dr warned me that if I didn't go to the ortho it could get worse. I guess I'll have to face it and make an appt for next week.
Carla, glad Ana's appt went well, so sorry she has to have all that dental work. Poor baby! I saw the WW sundae cups last time I was at the store but resisted. Haven't seen the Skinny Cows yet, but when I do I'll pick them up. Have you found the Miss Meringue cookies in your area yet? They are sooo good, especially the cappacino, also the triple chocolate, and only 20 calories each, 6 are two points. Even the plain vanilla are great!
Carla - Sorry to hear about the work that the dentist has to do for Ana but I'm glad to hear that she handled it well. Hmmmm, I think I'll have to look for those sundae cups - the thing I like about the sandwiches is that it is automatically portion controlled - these new ones are too! Good luck tomorrow on the scale.
Karen C - Yup, sounds like an appt for the ortho is a good idea. Will the insurance company pay for more PT ('cause the PT was last year, right?)
Well, best laid plans and all - right now it looks like the demo will be on Friday. Although I would much rather work from home, it will be best 'cause this isn't just a demo, it's a kick-off meeting for this year's version of the system and if it was scheduled for next week and I'm on jury duty, it wouldn't happen 'cause I'm the project manager. Blech - oh well, at least it's supposed to cool off by then. I'm planning on getting out of here as early as I can and doing a yoga tape when I get home - I have a nice 20 minute one that won't put dinner off too late and will be nice and relaxing. I *don't* want to have 3 rest days (from exercise) this week and I don't think I'm going to want to do any kind of workout after my colposcopy (yup, again, he wants a year of clear tests).
I may not get on tomorrow since we have a staff meeting for most of the morning and I have to leave around noon to get to the doctor's on time. If I don't get on, good luck to all you Wednesday weigh-ins!
I have a couple of minutes before my meeting so I thought I'd say hi. THe PMS monster was stomping around my house last night so my snacking was a bit more than I would have liked but I have enough points for breakfast & lunch. I did a short yoga tape when I got home and later in the evening, I did some weights while I watching TV. The weather is still hot, hot, hot (90's) but tomorrow is supposed to be better. If I'm not too crampy from the colposcopy this afternoon, I'd like to do a cardio workout but I'll have to see how I feel (and cool off the house first!)
