I believe I heard on a news report today that some person
has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the snack:
Pirate's Booty, because the nutrition information listed
was not accurate.
As anyone else heard this?
What a bummer to know that in the name of $$$
companies will understate the nutrition information
in hopes of appealing to folks trying to watch their
intake.
I also read recently that many of the energy bars were
also incorrectly undervalued regarding calories and fat.
Thank you for any information you have to share.

The same thing happened with the Bakers Breakfast Cookies. They were the rage, we were all buying them faster than they could hit the store shelves-and "oppps, we had the wrong numbers in" mistake happened. Even though they are great cookies, not worth the $$ or the calories any longer.

Sometimes it is not intentional and sometimes it is because of a change in the formula/recipe (which was the case with BBC). Big Daddy's was a 'misprint' or 'typo'. I believe Priates Booty actually changed the process of making it and the bags nutritional labeling didn't get changed.
Additionally I think the lawsuit is complete BS and she should be slapped for wasting the courts time.
I agree with your idea that many lawsuits are
frivolous.
In the case of food, I do think accurate information
is very important, and for some people may be
a matter of serious health consequences and not
just calories.
Of course honest mistakes do happen, what I resent
is that perhaps companies "fudge the numbers" knowingly.
Thanks for the opportunity to post my view.
