Default I did it!!!!!

I took the first step and went to my first WW meeting last night. I registered for the monthly plan and started my new life this morning!

A little history one me...I lost 58 lbs on SBD and kept the weight off for about 4 years. Then last year I tried AWL to lose that last 20 and GAINED weight. Then I had surgery and a few more rounds of steriods and I packed on 27lbs!!!

I started with Flex because it seemed it would be easier to learn the tenents of WW however I will probably switch to Core once I hit my 10%.

However, I'm afraid that I will GAIN on WW Flex! I was looking at what I typically eat and it adds up to about 18 pts (and they are healthy options) however since i have 60 lbs to lose I am allowed 26 pts!!!

Please tell me that I won't gain wait doing WW!

I don't know much about WW, but I wanted to congratulate you on taking some important steps! I would think that in general, if you measure your food and are accountable you'll be fine. What is AWL? Again, congrats!!

Hi there!!! to WW

WW wouldn't give you points to make you gain weight. That's not what they're in the business of doing.

Try out the 26 points for two weeks. When you get weighed in, watch carefully. If after two weeks of faithful tracking you either stay the same or go up, then either lower the points or switch to Core.

But try it out first. You may surprise yourself!

Thanks Faerie, that's a great suggestion. I'll try it.

I would suggest eating all 26 pts. I know that you are afraid of gaining, but your body needs a certain amount of nutrients. My family has done weight watchers in different stages for a while. My mom did it and has maintained her goal weight for about 4 yrs now. She is so small and cute! I did it in HS and looked great! (even though I didnt think that then) Then College hit and now my sister and I are doing it. One thing I learn through out the process is that actually you lose MORE if you eat all your points and stick to the plan. If you eat less then your body goes into starvation mode and stores your calories incase it needs them later. I know that it is scary, but give it an actual shot, and I think you will be very pleased. It truely is a life style change and thats how you lose and keep it off for life.

Good luck!
