get ultranourishair from GNC! It has biotin, horsetail and everything you need to help you get shiny, thick, beautiful hair. My friend had the lap band surgery last year and she takes this. It helped her.

I wouldn't spend the money necessarily...There really isn't much you can do because, as I understand it, they don't know that exact reason why you lose hair...maybe it's shock from surgery or general, maybe it's sudden weight loss, maybe it's the amount of protein or vitamin aborbtion. It isn't like Pattern baldness...and though I used the biotin, in the third month after surgery, I still lost hair. I'm now almost 8 months out and it's growing back in and does in any case, I hear.

Try the shampoo Nioxin. It doesn't make your hair grow, but it prevents you from losing anymore hair. Only bad thing is that it is pricey.

I used regular shampoo and the nioxin conditioner and it helped make my hair at least look thicker

My doctor told me to save my money and that my hair would grow back.

He was right... What I would suggest is getting in enough protein right from get go.

Good luck !!!

I'm with Leenie. I started Biotin, well a Walmart version of it in May and had my surgery in October. I still lost hair from three to six months. Pretty darn thin. Started growing back in, my mom got sick, I didn't get the protein in and started hair loss again. Up my protein and hair starting to grow again. Still taking the biotin, but who know. My nails are crappy too and dry skin. But, I'm alive and well! LOL!

Nancy... for nails and dry skin have you thought about taking Omega (fish oil)? I'm taking this stuff, and it taste pretty darn good...kinda like the old bayer baby asprin orange.. my DD even likes it. Omegas are said to help so many things.
