I have some weight to lose before being able to truly fit into all of Lane Bryant's 26/28, but I haven't been able to shop there for years. I needed a top to go with a skirt I bought to wear to my MIL's wedding later this week. I'd ordered a white sweater from a catalog, but it ended up being far too sheer and just didn't look right with the skirt, so I was a bit desperate. I thought I'd rush-order something, but decided to at least try the local Lane Bryant first.
So, yesterday hubby and I went to Lane Bryant, and I really didn't expect to find anything, but I was hoping. I tried on about eight tops (all knit), and six of them fit nice enough that I could have bought them to wear with jeans. Only two of them looked great with the skirt (I picked the one that was on sale. The sweater looked great, but I think would be too warm).
I also got two bras, and I was really shocked that those fit, because their biggest size is a size or two smaller than I've worn in quite a while.
I figure I need to lose another 25 lbs or more, before I can truly fit the size, and not just occasionally get lucky, but it was really fun being able to go in a "cash and carry" store again, rather than mail order.
Thanks all. It's funny sometimes the smallest things have the most profound effects. I warned hubby teasingly that this might re-inspire the shopping bug/clothes horse in me.
His face just lit up, and he said he'd be happy for us to make accomodations in the budget.
He's a typical male and isn't overly fond of long shopping trips, but any shop with an easy chair (like our local Lane Bryant has) in front of the dressing rooms, makes him happy, and he does have very good fashion sense, so it was a lot of fun, coming out to look in the mirrors, and having him make comments and suggestions.

Great job! I looooove getting to go shopping for smaller clothing! Your DH is very special-mine cringes if I even mention Fashion Bug or even Walmart's clothing section!
