The skinny on me getting skinny.
Hey folks,
I checked out 3 Fat Chicks On A Diet from the library this week and loved it so I decided to check out the site--this is GREAT!
I'm Alex, late twenties, from central Massachusetts.
I've been fat all of my life and I come from an obese family and overeating/crappy food habits are a family tradition. But no more! I've been working a twelve step program for food addiction for about a year and have really gotten down to brass tacks lately--my weight and food habits are affecting my life too much.
The real downward spiral happened in July when I was diagnosed with a whole mess of back problems--two herniated disks, one bulging disk, the narrowing of my spinal column, bone density issues, and arthritis. All began on July 4..with a bang. The only 'cure' for any of this for me and my medical history is to lose weight. The real kicker is that, right now, I am not allowed to exercise until my spine stabilizes. This is frustrating. I walk a lot..a LOT.
So, I've been working on my program--three meals a day only and that's had me drop fifteen pounds so far. I'm tweaking my nutritional info to get the most bang for the buck.
Outside of losing weight, I'm an artist and photographer and a freelance writer who is looking for a day job [damn the economy].
Always looking for new friends and motivation!
