Okay, so I can't really say that I am new here as I have been reading posts for several months now. I finally made the decision that I need to do something about the extra weight I have. Being overweight runs in my family and is something I have been battling my whole life. My dad was recently diagnosed with Type II diabetes simply because of his weight. I don’t want to get to that point.
Here are some basics about me: I am single but in a great relationship with the love of my life. I am helping him raise his 6-year old son who is a bundle of energy. I am an active director on the bowling association as well as the junior bowling coordinator. I work full-time as a supervisor for a government contractor.
I am doing the South Beach diet because, for me, I think that I can really do this without too much of a problem. I love vegetables and already eat a lot of lean protein. My biggest challenge is not to get stuck in a rut by eating the same thing over and over. As soon as I start to get bored with the food I am eating, I fall of the wagon. I have been reading the recipe section and have already tried some of them. I am looking forward to trying many more.
