Question Baby Friendly Weight Watchers Meetings?

Hello to all

I just had a baby a couple of months ago, and while I lost some weight I still need to lose more. Because I am exclusively breastfeeding I want to do it in a way that is really healthy and I think weight Watchers is the way to go. My question is are the meetings baby friendly? Right now my baby and I are glued together at the boobies and I would need to take her with me.I know that you can also do it online but I would really prefer the group meetings.

Thanks in advance

I would call your local WW center (or whoever runs your local WW meetings) and ask - they may run specific Mom and Me meetings. I know that when I've gone to Friday morning meetings, there is always a new mother with her infant and a couple of older kids. Also, my leader had to bring her 3 kids one week, because she had no one to watch them! I know that my center is ok with it, as long as the children are quiet. (I would assume this rule is for the older children) Also, you may want to sit close to the door, in case you have to make an early departure.

Good luck! Going to WW meetings was one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I'll just reiterate what staja said - the two centers I've attended have been very welcoming to children, especially infants. In general, everyone's very understanding and, in return, the mothers have been attentive to keeping their kids quietly amused and slipping out if a baby gets fussy. Frankly, I know there are a couple kids in my regular meeting (a 6-year-old and an infant), and I rarely notice they're there once the meeting starts.

I would agree - call ahead to check with your local meeting, but I wouldn't predict they'd have a problem. Sit towards the back so you can slip out quietly if you need to, or nurse if need be - I would predict everyone will be supportive, but different meetings have different people... if one group isn't receptive, try another meeting!

I think it depends on the individual leader as well, so it's best to ask in advance. I know the last group I was in the leader did not like children to attend as she felt it wasn't healthy for children to be listening to conversations concerning weight as she didn't want them to become focused on that at a young age, obviously though this is not going to apply to your baby
