Uhm. I though you guys would find this as interesting as I did.
From CNN:
FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin (AP) -- Talk about a Big Mac attack! Don Gorske says he has eaten 23,000 of the burgers in 36 years.
Don Gorske says he's skipped eating Big Macs only eight days in 36 years.
Don Gorske says he's skipped eating Big Macs only eight days in 36 years.
The Fond du Lac man said he hit the 23,000 milestone last month, continuing a culinary obsession that began May 17, 1972, and is fed by his obsessive-compulsive disorder.
"I enjoy them every day," said Gorske, 54. "I need two to fill me up."
Gorske has kept every burger receipt in a box. He says he was always fascinated with numbers, and watching McDonald's track its number of customers motivated him to track his own consumption.
Despite a diet some would call unhealthy, Gorske says he keeps himself in good shape. He says he's 6-foot-2 and weighs 185 pounds, and walks as many as 10 miles a day.
He used to order fries every day in the 1980s but began to cut back in the '90s, now eating them about once a month. He eats two Big Macs and two parfaits a day. Gorske has written a book about his experience.
"Sometimes people call me a freak but it doesn't bother me. I just say respect people as they are," he told The Associated Press. "I just want to make sure people understand I'm not going to change."
He can instantly recall the eight days in which he failed to satisfy his craving. One was in 1988, the day his mother died, to respect a request she made.
"I made a promise to her and I always keep my promises," he said. "I also promised her I wouldn't cut my hair and in 20 years I haven't."
He twice failed to attack a Big Mac because of his job. A correctional-institution employee, he said a number of work emergencies kept him on the clock past midnight so he recorded those days as missed days.
Three other times he was traveling and couldn't find a McDonald's. He also went Big Mac-less on Thanksgiving Day 2000, and during a 1982 snowstorm that prevented the local McDonald's franchise from opening.
"That's when I started a habit where I kept them in the freezer," he said. He keeps one or two burgers on hand but increases his inventory to four to five during the winter.
I feel a bit queasy just thinking about it! I had a Big Mac meal myself about 2 weeks back, emergency "food" while travelling.... I'm still traumatised by the memory of the horrible sloppy mayo
Well, he is 6'2" and only weighs 185, and walks 10 miles a day. Sounds like he is not in such bad shape.
I could not eat McDonald's even once a month. Just walking the the place kind of makes me ill. My husband swears that Big Macs smell like dirty armpits and genitals.
I admit I am a fan of the filets but I am controlling myself and not stopping in and buying one...never mind having 1 or 2 daily!! I would think you would become a bit bored with it after a few years lol

This is true, but I can only imagine what his arteries may look like...walking or not...all of that grease and processed meat HAS to have some internal effect on him.
just because he onlt weighs 185 doesnt mean he is healthy. But who is to criticize him if its waht he really wants. I myself could not eat any food just about every day of my life. I could not eat the same lunch every dau w/o eventually getting bored and wanting to puke at the sight of it
I just find it astounding that his body could take that abuse and he can stay fit whilst doing it. But then again, it says that the BULK of his diet are those two big macs...which is only 1080 calories....So it's not like it's constantly over eating every day.
Whenever I hear a story like this it reminds me of the Arlo Guthrie Motorcycle Song. I mean, seriously, this guy has become famous for eating hamburgers?! But, that's America.
In my entire life I've hit mcd's twice, both as a child. My son who will be 19 next month can't stand it either. HIs father used to drag him in there and he hated it. I used to take him to Wendy's but he wont eat there either, nor do I. And now that I've been eating healthier I'm so glad my son feels this way about ANY fast food! He has such a distaste for fast food he refuses to even accept a job working there! Says it'd be like me working at a porn shop!!!!!
1 bigmac = 540cal/29 grams of fat
1 yoghurt parfait = 180cal/2 grams of fat
2 bigmacs + 2 yoghurt parfaits = 1440cal/ 63g fat
Whoa - and for one meal, that would be scary. But it doesn't exactly say if he eats it in one meal, or if he eats them over the span of the day (his entire daily intake)
I used to like bigmacs but I got sick of them when I was younger. I'm a chicken freak now - My favorite is the chicken nuggets (6 nuggets = 310 calories, plus sweet + sour sauce for 360 cals) And I am a HUGE yoghurt parfait freak LOL
