I've been looking for an alternative to a water bottle - I wish I could just use glass (all I use at home), but obviously it's just not transportable. Are there any concerns about the aluminum in the SIGG bottles? Or lining? They are looking very promising to me (tonight is first I've heard of them), but I don't want to go from BPAs to aluminum and end up with Alzheimers or something!! Any thoughts or information would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!
walking2lose- SIGG bottles have no health concerns attached at all. The lining inside is a non-leaking (leeching??).(I don't know the words) You get no foreign tastes at all. They are AWESOME!!!

walking2lose- the sigg bottles are coated with a water soluble natural coating. Can't quite tell you exactly what it is considering they won't release it.
I would only see a problem using them if the lining was damaged somehow. I've been using the same two bottles for over a year and haven't had one problem with the lining getting scratched. I only use them with water and I rinse right away so nothing funky grows in it.
My husband uses a Katadyn bottle - awesome, but more expensive than a sigg and HARD to find. They have a filter in them that needs to be replaced every so often. Finding those d*mn filters is the bane of my existence.
My son uses a kleen kanteen and a camelbak kids cup. The kleen kanteen is stainless steel, but isn't lined and I find it leaves a weird metallic taste. He doesn't seem to mind though and drinks pretty fast so it doesn't really have time to get the icky flavor. The camelbak cup is nice, but leaks like crazy.
Rubbermaid Sip bottles are BPA free and inexpensive. Remember, just because they are plastic does not mean that they contain BPA.
Also, concerning sweating: My sigg doesn't sweat, the kleen kanteen does. I don't know if that has to do with the lining or what. I usually don't use ultra cold water though.

Thank you, Zeff! So, I wonder what the mystery lining material is...?? I'm off to look up Katadyns!
Katadyn is one serious bottle (just watched a video on their site)!!!! That would be an awesome investment for DH and I if we were ever to get back into serious mountain biking or camping. Glad to know about it!
I use a Klean Kanteen while out and about. I like it because it stainless, so no worries about bacteria, no worries about aluminum, and I don't notice a metallic taste at all. It does sweat if you put ice in it (but you can put ice cubes in because the opening is large.) I have a neoprene sleeve for it that keeps it cold and gets rid of the "sweat" issue. I think it's made by Built NY? It great, it has a snap on handle so it can be attached to your purse, bag, belt loop, etc.
Opps! I just have a Rubbermaid 32 ounce hard plastic bottle. I have 3. I measure every thing I drink. It looks like I made the wrong investment.Do these containers pose a threat? I might consider those SIGGs. They are cute!
When I finally went to replace my cancerous Nalgene bottles all I could find was a brand called Camelback. I am not sure if I like mine- it has a weird rubber mouthpiece you have to bite down on to drink- and i usually just take the lid off together. I think I'm going back to Nalgene.
