Default Ok Day One.. Really This Time...

Ok well i am starting this thang for real this time. I have set my mini goals and my ultimate goal. I finally have a plan and I intend to stick to it. I also started a MySpace page so I can blog and put pics up. Please feel free to add me as a friend there too. I could use the encouragement. Today I plan on starting an exercise program. My sister gave me an eliptical so I am going to try my luck on that. I am also going to really watch what I eat. Only veggies for a couple of weeks and drink water. Shouldn't be to hard today because I have a tummy ache lol. Well any tips and encouragement would be great! Thanks guys! I love this site!

welcome and good luck! If you are only having veggies, make sure you get enough protein somehow

I think veggies on there own will make you binge at some point. I agree with Ghost definately get your protein, its all about balance!
Your overall goal is the same as mine tho
Im starting weight watchers at home today until the meeting starts next week. I here people shed weight healthily on that.

Good luck on your journey tho, and if you need any support feel free to message

Hey!

Only veggies for a couple of weeks doesn't seem like the best plan. Your body needs proteins and a few fats, too, even while losing! Have you read any of the books out there? Plenty of good plans are available that don't involve drastic measures (and you may be able to stick to them!).

The elliptical sounds great! Start off with 20 minutes a day and work up from there. Take a break after 3 days. Also, going for a walk is a good way to get activity.

Good luck, tweety!

Hey Teresa

I completely believe you can do this! And I like how you have a plan, mini-goals, and a place to exercise regularly. That's just fantastic. Stick with it!

The only thing you may want to reconsider is "only veggies". Even vegetarians & vegans eat more than just veggies. We're complex creatures, and we need many things in order for our wonderful bodies to function properly. Protein, fat, fiber, essential vitamins, and enough calories... it's not a choice... they're needed. We just have to get them in the right amounts. And up to this point we've been getting far too many calories. That's all. So, while it's good to get enough veggies... only veggies could lead to a backlash (binging) or feeling very ill.

You can definitely lose weight & keep it off. But, we have to practice healthy choices on the way to our goal... not just when we get there.

Good luck on your journey. Your myspace page is pretty and is a great way to build motivation. For me, I don't do it perfectly every day- I just keep trying. As far as your food and exercise, you'll find out what works for you. Keep posting.

Good luck! Some good advice from the posters above on making sure you get a balanced diet which is important. You want to have a plan that you can really live with and be comfortable on long-term, that's really key!

Let us know how you are doing...

Good for you!! I made the decision to do it 2 weeks ago and already I'm 7lb down. I don't know if it's pstchological but I'm already feeling fitter and happier!!!
I have an elliptical too but prefer my treadmill at the moment, as the weight starts to come off I might start on both.

Good luck and make this the last time you do it!!!!!
