I was excited to tell everyone that I lost another 2lbs on my weigh-in this morning I was certain that I was going to gain this week. Friday night was my hubby's birthday party, and I definetly overate and had too much to drink. Followed the plan religiously the last 2 days, but still certain I had sabotaged my weight-loss for the week. So to step on the scale this morning and see another 2lbs gone made me squeal I had to jump off the scale and get back on again to believe it.
I too was shocked when I got on the scale on sunday I stuck to the plan like a duck to water and could not believe when I stepped on the scale and was down 4.5 lbs! That is the most I have ever in my life lost in one week. I think it really had more to do with my giving up alcohol rather than the ww itself. Next week will really tell.
This week I am not anticipating any real big challenges to get in my way. Of course the big think is always the planning the meals for me. I want to find a list of 'core' meals I can fall back on in a pinch and/or am in a hurry any ideas?
Congratulations XenophonicScream on your 2 lb weight loss! Keep up the good work!
I weigh in on Fridays and hopefully I will lose too. I did join the gym today which should help speed up my weight loss...I think that I was not being consistent enough at home with my workouts. I began this weight loss journey 8/8/08 and have only lost 4.5 pounds. GRRR! I was really hoping to lose 2 pounds a week? Not too sure what I am supposed to do more exercise or less points? Hmmm?
Hi ladies!
I am still a newbie but thought that I would jump right in! I weighed in today and only have 5 lbs to go before I make my 10% goal - hopefully, I will hit that in the next 2 weeks. Last week was a challenge for me as my oldest DS started school - I wasn't prepared for the schedule change. This week I am planning out our meals for dinner, so hopefully that will get me back on track!
I know what you mean texscrapper, the meal planning is the hardest part for me too. But once I have some in place I am able to stick to it pretty good. Right now I have some layered mexican cassorole in the oven, the recipe was on this site so I am trying it. Instead of using chicken though I am using TVP I hope it tastes good.
For my breakfast I make up some 'burritos' made from FF/low carb/low cal torilla, egg beater, a little onion, and a thin slice of ham and then I toast them to make a crunchy shell. Only 3 pts each and I eat two they are great eat and go for me
My problem has been dinner this past week. We were so busy getting back into the swing of things from school, that I would forget to thaw anything out most nights We ate out twice last week and did hot dogs and other "quick" meals - each night I kicked myself knowing that I had a turkey breast in the freezer

Hi all! I am back from vacationing at the parents place. I most definately fell off the bandwagon, but I am back on track now. New addition to my routine: walking my dog for 1 hour everyday. Good for the both of us. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and congrats to those who lost!
I was excited - I lost 2.5 lbs last week, and I really hope I didn't gain it all back yesterday at our Labor Day Dutch Oven BBQ... I'm going to be really careful this week and not weigh for a few days.
Made it through the labor day weekend and feel pretty good about it. I have meals planned out at least for the next two days after that I really need to take a look at the ole cubbard and see what is left.
I keep saying I am going to get into the swing of things and start an exercise routine but just don't seem to know when I can find the time. Do you think it is just as beneficial to do 5 min here 10 min there etc?
nancylmrn - I too wonder how much I should expect to lose in a week. I would like to lose 2 pounds but that is just not happening right now for me.
texscrapper - Just curious what types of dinners are you planning? I am always looking for ideas since it feels like we always eat the same things for dinner.
Sara - Congrats on your 2.5 weight loss! I'm so excited for you as you are almost at your October goal! Yay!!
I had a good day today! I went to the gym and stayed within my points. I even passed up cookies and had a peach instead.
Thought I'd check in and see how everyone was doing. I'm still maintaining so that makes week number two. I'm still doing my stuff during the day and then in the evening I've been bad but it must be balancing because I haven't gained.
Keep up the good work ladies. BTW....don't fret if you are losing less than two pounds a week. It took me a year and a half to lose 50+ pounds, but at least I know I did it healthy.
Sara - WTG on the loss - especially through Labor Day
nancy - 2 lbs per week is healthy - I know it's frustrating sometimes because we all want to lose quickly! I just try to remind myself that it took a few years for me to get to this weight, so it may take a few years to get skinny!
Jo - last night we had fajita nachos (hold the chips for me) - I had more of a salad with the meat. Tonight that turkey breast finally gets cooked, homemade pizza tomorrow night, and leftovers Saturday night. I don't cook any different (menu wise) than before I started WW. I have just changed how I cook it - no butter, baking instead of frying, etc. I have also changed ingredients - using FF of Reduced Fat instead of reg varieties. Portion control has also been a big thing here!
I am planning my menu for the rest of the month right now - so I'll post more as I get it planned!
Can I join in with you guys? I was going to meetings...but, decided that I have enough stuff to do this at home. I've been a member many times...and with $$$ these days -- going to the meetings and paying monthly is just too expensive! I know the plan. I just need some accountability. Can I have you guys be my accountability?
I LOVE WW!! I currently have 33pts to use each day. I'm a breastfeeding mother of a 7week old (8wks tomorrow!) and I get 10 extra points a day...which seems HIGH!
I am currently 170lbs ... and would like to get to a goal of 125lbs.
My pregnancy was hard on my body -- bed rest from May on...and had a heart condition that surfaced during the pregnancy. My DS was born on July 11th, 5 weeks early! I was due on Aug 14th. He was 7lbs 5.5oz and 19" long..so, if he went to term, they said he would have been 12lbs. He's doing well... I also have 2 older children (ds #1 - 7yrs, dd #2 - 5 1/2yrs)
I have a goal in mind...vacation next month. We are leaving on October 4th to go to a wedding, and after the wedding, driving to Myrtle Beach area. I'd like to get back to my pre-pregnancy size (or much closer) by then. I do know that while eating, you can't lose a ton of weight right away -- it might effect my milk supply. However, when I had DD, I worked out and watched what I ate, and we both did fine and I lost a ton of weight!
