Default Anyone know a good sports bra for a big nursing mum?

Hello everyone,

Hopefully this is the correct place to post this, as this is the first thread I've started so I'm not too sure .

I've posted an intro on the alternachicks forum, and in the intros forum - so I won't post another one here, other than to say I'm still co-sleeping and breastfeeding my daughter, who was born in April 2005.

I've been trying, and failing, to find a good sports bra that will cope with my (smaller than they were, but still) big boobs - they are US size 36DD (UK size 36E). I don't need to be able to nurse in it, I just need it to be comfortable for my sensitive chest!

Having seen lots of articles about the amount of damage you can do to your chest by exercising, and allowing bounce, I don't want them to drop any further so I need a good bra. (The one I've got at the moment, will not do me any good for anything high impact).

Any suggestions?

When my youngest was a few months old and I was a 40 DD, I found a really great Champions bra at a local running store. I took a pile of bras off the rack and then jumped up and down in each of them in the changeroom. I've recently bought another Champions bra as I've shrunk out of my old one and I'm consistently impressed with their brand.

Health magazine actually tested sports bras in their August issue...for large busted women they found "Champion's Power Sleek Sports Bra" to work well for a D cup woman to jog in...my daughter is a 40 DD so we ordered her one for soccer and it has lived up to Health mags claims. I hope I'm not overstepping any posting rules...it was offered for $40 with free shipping at www.championusa.com

I agree with the Champion, they are the best!

Thank you m'dears, nothing better than a recommendation

I guess I'll head into Edinburgh at the weekend, and go shopping (now I've Googled, where sells the Champion bras!).

I'll be as happy as the dancing carrot when I can go running without a lot of painful bounce.

Thanks again,
-neesk

I'm also a 36DD and I found that Champion didn't do much for me. I started buying Enell sports bras for running and high-impact aerobics and they are awesome. They strap my chest down really well, not even an inch of movement! They're a bit pricey (about $65 USD), but well worth it, IMO.

I have an Enell as well, it is like body armor. BUT I have lost weight so I need to shell out the cash for a smaller size. Yikes!
