Cool Egads - No Wonder I Was So Tired All the Time!

I guess this is really and NSV of sorts - Last night my water softener was getting low on salt so I thought, rather than wait for DH to get "a round tuit" I would just go ahead and add it. (Besides, I kind of like to do some of the heavy stuff these days just to feel my muscles work ). As I was hefting the bag into pouring position and thinking it felt really, really heavy so I should be careful to make sure my core was tight and lift with my legs to protect my back, I noticed the bag weight was 40 lbs. That's how much I used to haul around on my poor body every day I can't even imagine strapping that bag of salt to my back and walking around all day! Sure put things in perspective for me

These moments are some of the best, aren't they?!

Mine was when I actually lifted up my brother's 50 pound weight. Granted, it was dense... but there it was, at the time that's what I had lost!

I lost the ability to conceptualize what I'd lost at around 80 lbs...just no capacity to imagine it anymore.

So glad you got that glimpse into your progress!

yoyodieterinvegas: Congrats!

I have a few pounds to go before I can say I've lost 50, and when that happens I plan to go out and buy a 50 lb sack of dog food to keep around as a reminder of how much I've lost through hard work and determination!

I know that just picking it up from time to time will serve as a strong reminder of how much I've actually accomplished on those days when I might forget (complacency).

I am also hoping it will have the added benefit of being a visual motivator to stay on track -- I don't want to be hauling that sack around on my body ever again!

Also, I should mention that I don't even own dogs.

It IS incredibly mind boggling to think how I used to carry around all that weight. And I was wondering why by 3:00 in the afternoon I was pretty much useless, having no more energy or strength to do another thing.

What's more mindboggling, trying to figure out WHY I was carrying around all that added poundage. But that's for another thread.

I'm glad you got to see/feel just how much you've lost. Keep up the amazing work.
