Default Room for another newbie?

Hi all! Hope there's room for another newbie needing some motivation and support. Like many others, this has been a life long struggle. I lost 40 lbs about 7 years ago, not with some fancy diet, but just by doing the simple things you've heard about all your life - make better choices and get moving! Well, I fell back into old habits and those lbs (plus several more) have crept back on. I'm back in the groove and really want to stick to it. I'm hoping you all can help with that (and hopefully, I can help some of you too.)!

Welcome!!!!

I'm a newbie too and this sight is awesome. people are really supportive and made me feel welcome. There are planey of forums to choose from. So go lurking and see what fits for you.

Where in New York do you live? I grew up in Flushing, Queens. Moved when I was 13 to NC and then to California. Miss the food especially pizza and knishes. I found a place in Cali that makes New York pizza cause they are form Brooklyn and know what real pizza is.

Hope to see you around.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I was born and raised in the Bronx (Go Yankees!), but now live further upstate, in Dutchess County. We've vacationed a bit in NC and really love it there. If we ever leave NY, we'll be heading to the Carolinas.

Oh yes, we've always got room! Welcome!

Pattijo - also! We have LOTS of groups, by age range, by amount to lose, by your eating plan...also a lot of miscellaneous clubs and support groups. So look around, particularly in the "Support Groups" forum - you can find all kinds of groups there to join.

Can't wait to see both of you around soon!!

My husband and I are thinking about moving to NC near Raleigh in a year or so. Most of family lives in Florida and I want to be closer. My mom is 82. I only get out once a year. if I was on the same coast I could see her and my brothers and sister more. Not to mention the cost of housing is way cheaper than California.

Welcome from another newbie. I am so excited to see so much movement in this thread, I am in good company and not alone. I live in NC myself(40 mins outside of Raleigh) and I have a friend that lives in CA. I always joke with her about how she could live in a mansion here for what she is paying there. I have recently grown to love it here, it only took me 37 years, but I finally appreciate NC for what it has to offer. I use to envy those that escaped but so many want to come back that I decided I would just stay put, for now at least. Anyway, welcome again and feel free to message me anytime for support or NC talk.

Christina
