Default Passing out after an accident

yesterday werent the best day at work....
come 3.30 i managed to cut me finger open with a screwdriver....
went in with quite some force and really hurt....
i went to walk and went alll dizzy, sick and my legs wudnt move....
so i went flying....
being completely unaware what was happening when i came round i tried to get up and move again....
again, dizzy and sick, legs wudnt move and smack!....

so bit of a wierd question but why would cutting myself force me to pass out twice....
im not at all bothered by blood, its never been an issue in the past....

bout an hour later i managed to drive home, toodling along at under 30 all the way....
sat with my mother for a bit til i felt well enough to move....
still managed a little exercise, not much but a little....
this morning i have a throbbing finger, two very sore bruised hips and a bruised back....

i am determined, i am motivated, i wont even let this get in my way....
lol, time to get mother to wash my hair for me now....

could've been shock or pain. I don't know what to tell you. I'm glad you're okay though.

I pass out with any kind of sharp pain. It's happened ever since I was eight. I remember passing out on the playground, in class, in the bathtub (there was no water in it -- long story). Then it didn't happen for about ten years. The next time it occurred, I was 20 (eight years ago). I had been dating my boyfriend for two years. He and I used to joke around a lot. He grabbed a little kids fake golf club and whacked me in the knee with it on Easter Sunday at his aunt and uncle's house in front of all the kids. I don't even remember hitting the ground. When I woke up, there was my boyfriend, his mom, and, like, eight little cousins of his. It's happened like three more times since then, on ice, on a trampoline.

Whenever it happened, I would be out for, I guess, like 30 seconds to a minute. I am a wreck for at least a full day afterwards. I am disoriented, very emotional, and exhausted. After the time on Easter Sunday, I was uncontrollably crying, I was combative. I asked my mom if she remembers this happening to me when I was growing up, and she explained to me that I am just like her. She said when she was giving birth to me, my aunt kept having to slap her awake.

I think maybe blood loss.. but did you bleed a lot when you cut yourself? If you were in a sitting position and then just had gotten up...maybe you have orthostatic hypotention = which means you had low blood pressure when you stood up. This sometimes happens when you are dehydrated or sometimes not depending on what else is going on. Some people complain of dizziness and passing out, etc. You should go to the doc, those symptoms can be a precursor to something serious plus you may need a tetanus shot. Just some ideas hope this helps

Oh my goodness I hope that heals soon!

You know, the last few times I've gashed open a finger or something, I've actually felt really nauseaous and dizzy and faint too. i don't know why it happened, but I think it's a combination of seeing blood and feeling pain and me being a wuss

I fainted last summer for no reason -- I was going to bed at 3AM (I don't remember why so late) and I just randomly felt completely sick and weird and down I went, slamming my head very hard into a table ... eek. It's an unpleasant experience, I agree!

i dont have a history of passing out with the sight of blood....
i have been known to do it with period pain....

i was stood up, in a very active motion at the time....
all it took was for me to spin round to face the opposite direction and attempt to move....
must have been less than 5 seconds after the accident....

im suffering now....
sleepings a nitemare....
both sides hurt and my back hurts....
lol....

still **** happens i guess....
will teach me to be careful....
