Default Baby weight

Okay So I was 215 when I got pregnant with my Daughter, she is now 14 months old and I am now 240. Down from 260 after I had her though. I just started about a month ago seriously watching my calories and and I have lost about 6-7lbs, depending on what scale I weigh on lol. My goal is to be 150 which is 90lbs by September-October next year.

Now my question is do you think this is Attainable to lose 90lbs in alittle over a year. I am trying to plan my next pregnancy. My Husband and I decided we want to try for another one next year that way my daughter will be about 3 by the time the new baby gets here. I really don't want to get pregnant though at the weight I am at. Not for Health reasons because even though I am overweight I had a great pregnancy no high blood pressure no GD no nothing just a big baby 9lbs 11 ounces lol. But She and I were healthy as can be. I want to lose weight before having another baby so I don't just regain more, and it would be nice to see a pregnant belly alittle sooner, you couldnt tell I was pregnant till more then half way through the darn pregnancy lol.

I totally think 90 pounds in one year is attainable. Find a great non-gimmicky plan and do it the healthy way. I have lost 38 pounds in four months. I haven't been a perfect angel the whole time either.

I know all about excess baby weight!!!!! I think 90 lbs in a year is totally doable. I began dieting after I had my 5th baby, and was still nursing. As you probably know, you aren't supposed to "diet" while nursing. But, my "diet" was basically cutting out all junk food and eating healthy foods in its place. I ate lots of salads and veggies, switched to whole wheat bread and pasta and brown rice. I wasn't able to severly restrict calories, but making healthy choices along with regular exercise really helped the pounds to come off. If you go about your diet in a healthy way, you probably wouldn't need to change your eating habits much even during your pregnancy. The nutrionist at the hospital I work at told me I would have to add approx 100 cal/ day during my preganacy. As you can tell from my starting weight, I ate a whole lot more than the 100 extra calories! So, even if you wouldn't reach your goal before you get pregnant, your healthier lifestyle wouldn't have to stop, and you can in a sense still work to your goal even while pregnant, like I did while nursing!

Thats great. I am Calorie Counting I find that really the easiest to stick too. It's not even really a diet for me I want it to be a life style and eating healthy doesn't bother me, I just like junk food lol. But I do love fruit and Chicken and Tuna and a lot of really healthy other foods as well. So I have been cutting alot of junk food out.

I am just going to watch what I eat and exercise. Hopefully I can get to my goal in that time if not even if I get close or even atleast in the 100's like you said I can still watch what I eat and since I will still be considered overweight medically they wont care if I only gain like 15 or 20lbs during the pregnancy.

During my Last pregnancy they wanted me to gain less then 10. I gained about 30-35. OPPSh

You know, I actually have a friend who was over weight when she got pregnant, gained less than 10 lbs, and actually weighed less than she did after delivery! What a deal! She did this with the supervision of her doc, of coarse. But, honestly, 90 lbs in a year should be obtainable. Do you exercise? I know that I couldn't have lost the weight I did and kept it off without regualr exercise. Anyway, best of luck to you!

Yup. I try to do cardio atleast 4X a week if not more and weight Training as well. I was thinking about adding some Pilates in there too on the 2 or 3 days I don't do Cardio. I figured that would help and I love Pilates it makes me feel so good.

A friend told me I don't know how true this is. But it's better to lose weight before a baby if you have weight to lose because especially after a 2nd baby it's even Harder to lose the weight. Anyone else heard that!

I think weight loss is difficut at any stage in life! However, if you breastfeed, you burn between 500 and 750 extra calories per day. That actually is benificial to your weight loss. So I would say, if breastfeeding, probably easier after baby.

Weight loss is hard at any stage of life, but I do believe that it is more difficult after each baby. With my first, I was at goal within a year...with my second it took around 2 1/2 years...and with my third (who just turned 2) I am really struggling with it going slow...I think that after each baby it is harder, and then obviously you are older after each child.

Breastfeeding burns a lot of calories, but for me (and I know it happens to others) I was STARVING while nursing, so I had to eat more. So, it wasn't like the weight was falling off. It wasn't the munchies, it was physical, stomach growling hunger. My kids were all 9+ and 10+ pounds, and those kids could EAT! I was just starving all of the time...so, I was only losing about a pound per month while nursing.
