Default Best Gastric Bypass WLS book you would recommend?

I am preparing for WLS and at the support group on Monday, many people were talking about good books that will give you personal indepth information, but they never mentioned the author. As you probably know, there are several books out there and I am weeding through them based on reviews and such to see which ones I will pick to read.

But for those of you ahead of me in this process, which books would you recommend?

Thank you!

BubbaLu and Welcome

I think the book would depend on the type of surgery you are having? Which one are you going for?

I know if our fearless leader Jiffypop was here (she's traveling overseas for work) she could point out a few good books for you. Sorry I can't help you but its early in the day so maybe the other GB ladies will chime in.

Default WLS for Dummies

I'm sorry I didn't mean to be inattentive, but canning and running and just didn't zero in on this question. "WLS for Dummies" is a really good read for before, during and after. There is another, old danged mind, having a senior moment. Go to Bariatriceating.com and that lady wrote a book about WLS. She has since gained a little back and has a live discussion on Weds and fighting the dreaded weight gain. Sorry I can't remember her name. Go to ObesityHelp.com and read all the post you can about your particular kind of surgery and then ask questions. There are tons of good life after WLS cookbooks that are good reads also. I'm advising all you newbies to get an eating plan in place, like: South Beach Diet, Diabetic Diet, etc. That you can adapt to WLS and start on it now and you will be way ahead of the game. IMOP! LOL!

I had RNY on August 4th and I have to say the book that really came in handy for me was "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" I was able to pick it up at Barnes and Noble for a reasonable price. It had answers to all of my questions and even told me what exactly to expect in the hospital.

Hope this info helps!
