I have 'Middlesex' by Jeffrey Eugenides waiting for me at home, which I haven't started yet and have been meaning to read for years now! I was going to read it last time but wound up re-reading 'She's Come Undone' by Wally Lamb- awesome book!

Another great suggestion: 'Me Talk Pretty One Day' by David Sedaris...wonderfully dry and so funny!

I really need some newer suggestions, though...anyone?

I'm reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.
Monica, I love She's Come Undone (even though it's so sad) and just finished reading Me Talk Pretty One Day (loved it). I hope to read some more Sedaris this summer. Have you read "I Feel Bad About My Neck" by Nora Ephron or Birds of America by Lorrie Moore?

Alice Hoffman's, The Ice Queen. A book I used to love though was Back Roads and there is another one called American Skin by Don DeGrazia. It is about a kid who gets caught up in the skinhead subculture. Awesome quick reads. I also read the new Patricia Cornwell Kay Scarpetta series even though I haven't like one in years.

She's come undone was a good book. I read it about a month ago.

Right now I am reading a trilogy by Orson Scott Card called the Worthing Saga. I'm plugging away but I must say it's not his best work so far.

Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink. So far so good. Cant seem to put it down. I think it has already helped with some of my bad eating habits

Right now I'm into The Emperor's Bones by Adam Williams, a novel about European expats, warlords, the dawn of communism, and the Japanese and Russians lurking in the wings in China in the 1920s: a good book to be reading with the Olympics in China starting in a few days

After that, I'd like to find a novel that takes place during the summer Olympics, especially if it's about horses (I got a used copy of On Thin Ice, a thriller by Susan Andersen, but it's to do with figure skating, which is the WINTER Os, and most of it takes place after the skaters have turned pro anyway): failing that I think I'll get Rome 1960 by David Maraniss (non-fiction, about the Os of Wilma Rudolph, Rafer Johnson and The Fighter Then Known as Cassius Clay), but can you think of any summer-Olympic fiction? [away from keyboard]

[back at keyboard 1 h later] Now that I think of it, somewhere in a box I have an old novel from the cold-war days when cute communist-block gymnasts were the big Olympic stars, it's called The Russian Rose: I'll dig that out and read it again

Glad to know She's Come Undone is good, of course that is why I bought the book...heard it was good. Not ready to start it yet, lol.

Right now I am reading Black Dahlia by James Ellroy

I just download Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, but I haven't started it yet. It will take me several months to get through this, especially since it downloads in three parts. I'm also in the middle of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Out of the Silent Planet (C.S Lewis Space Trilogy, book 1).

I am currently reading Ain't She Sweet? by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Have to get in a lot more reading before September 2nd, when I go back to teaching. Then I don't have much time to read. If I do read it takes me a month or two to read one book. LOL
Happy Reading everyone!

I just finished Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice.
I'm going to start on A Rare Breed Of Love by Jana Kohl, Psy.D. which is a true story about a three-legged puppy mill survivor's part in helping dogs around the USA.
If I get through that before the month is over,I'm going to begin to read The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, which is a vampire thriller.
I'm also probably going to be reading a whole ton of FanFictions along the way.
