Thumbs up Nike makes running fun!

This might be old news to some but i got this in my email inbox from Apple"

"Tune up for the world's largest running event ever!

Play music and get real-time data and voice feedback on your progress while you train and race with the Nike + iPod Sport Kit. After the race, upload your data from your sport kit to nikeplus.com to compare your results with other runners from around the globe. And check out armbands and headphones designed with running in mind."

So i checked out the website, its so cool! Basically its talking about Nike+. Nike has brought out these new shoes, and you put their sensor in you shoe. Then you can have the nike+ armband which gathers data from the sensor on how far you run, how many calories you burn etc. Then you detach the sensor, which is actually a USB, and plug it into your computer to upload your run!

Or instead of the armband you can have a sensor that plugs into your ipod nano. It will store your run data like the armband will and you plug the nano into your computer and upload the data.

lookie! http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/index.jhtml

Sorry if this is all old hat to you, but i thought it was pretty neat!

i think it is really neat, and the equipment itself isnt that expensive, if you already have the ipod and the shoes. I think the ipod sensor and the shoe sensor is about NZ$50. Wish i had known about this before i had bought new $200 shoes though

Yeah, I heard about that... I think it's great.

Another good one is GPS watch:
More advance systems possess functions such as heart rate sensors, performance indicators, distance meters, virtual running partner as well as distance, and speed calculators.

I always have to jog the same route here in my neighborhood because the streets are so windy I get lost. It would be nice to be able to venture out. And, it would be nice to just go for walks in London without getting lost for once!
