I have heard everything from once a week, to every day, to once a month(!) and everything in between. What really is the best? Sometimes I feel anxious to know if its working (or not) but I also know your weight fluctuates during the day so there is not much point more often than once a week, is there?
I have an "official" weigh in once a week. I try not to weigh myself outside of that (i really do!) but usually i weigh myself at least twice a week, and i take those weights with a pinch of salt
I think the optimum time between weigh ins depends on the person. For me, once a day tells me nothing because i fluctuate too much from one day to the next, and it can be depressing. Once a week works pretty good, it satisfies my curiosity and if i go off track i can pick that up pretty quickly and make some changes
Some people like to weigh themselves every day, even twice a day or more. Other people get too stressed out by the daily fluctuations for that, and weigh themselves about once a week.
As for me, my "official" weigh in is on Friday morning. But I also like to weigh myself once during the week as well, usually on Wednesday, just to see how things are progressing.
And sometimes I will weigh myself on Monday, too, to assess the damage if I've had a binge-filled weekend.

I think I'm going for everyother Tuesday, just because I just don't feel the 1 or 1.5# loss really keeps me encouraged and motivated. When I saw 3.5#'s it just felt a little better and then when I thought that 3.5+3.5= 7, that really got me pumped!!!
I weigh every day, and I've learned to tolerate the daily fluctuations. At least that way I don't get a huge disappointment when a week's (or even month's) worth of progress is masked by an unlucky fluctuation.
i weigh in once a month. I'm not as restrict with my diet as most other people, so my progress is really slow. That's why once a month usually show me the result, faster than that just look like i haven't lost any at all
I weigh myself every morning and then my official weigh in is Friday mornings. I need to get out of the habit because it is starting to really discourage and one week I didn't weigh myself at all and that was the week I lost the most week in the past month....so I might just toss my scale. It just kind of depends who you are, some ppl need to weigh themselves daily, and for others it just discourages them.
Although I get the best reading in the morning its hard at times for me to go days without weighing myself....lol but I usually do it a few times a week but I think as I get more into my weight loss I am weighing is less and less.
I weigh myself every morning naked after using the bathroom...but I don't count my weight as "official" until Saturdays, because that's the day I started my diet.
I weigh daily-sometimes several times a day, but I officially check in on Tuesdays. I just like to notice. I don't get upset later in the day is more or anything.
I'm officially a hypocrite - I used to be a once-a-week weigher, and I would advise people not to weigh themselves everyday because it would drive them crazy. Guess what I do now? Every morning - even though my official weigh-in day is Friday.
I don't own a scale. I have my trainer measure me the last thursday of every month and then I weight myself at Dad's place that evening to give me rough estimate. I can't own a scale because it effects my moods and then if I don't loose I have more of a tendency to binge.
I weigh myself officially on Sundays–that's when I stick it in a Live Journal entry and update my weight on the Daily Plate. During the week, though, I sometimes step on the scale on Tuesday and Thursdays as well, although I don't really pay too much attention to the numbers. I only officially update my weight, both online and in my head, on Sundays. Otherwise, I think I'd go nuts worrying about water weight and the like!
