Default New and Nursing Twins

Hello,

I'm new to this forum but not weightloss. I'm a mother of three. My weightloss journey is a little different this time around because, I'm nursing 10 mo old twins while dieting. I'm using weight watchers as my game plan. I'm trying to focus on a whole foods approach to eating this time around instead of fad diets.

I'm just curious if there are any other mothers here nursing twins or multiples?

Is there any interest in a July nursing thread as well?

Glad to be here

Wow...kudos to you.

I was exhausted nursing one baby for 10 months - I can't imagine trying to nurse twins.

I am not currently nursing, as I am still pregnant, but did nurse my other two kids for 10 months and plan on nursing this one as well.

Just wanted to say welcome!

Well lucky for you... nursing one baby burns an extra 500 calories a week!!!! So maybe because you are nursing two... you get double the bonus? lol, I dont know. Nice thought though.

good luck, and welcome!

I'm just stopping in to say hello I nursed my twins but for four months only. It was tricky keeping up with my 25 month old and my milk supply. My oldest and youngest got momma milk for 13 months amd 10 months tho.
Be well

Welcome! I love to hear about nursing twins. There's often a misconception that a woman can't make enough for two babies at once, which is usually untrue. 10 months is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations!

I'm still nursing my "baby". He's a toddler now - 21 months old today, to be exact. I've breastfed all three of my boys and really wished I had worked on the weight loss a little more in the early days. My metabolism would have loved that! Now that Jack is this age he's not nursing enough to make much of a difference to my plan.

WW is the best weight loss system to go on as a nursing mom. They always take into account the extra caloric needs of milk production. I know several breastfeeding moms who lost their weight on WW. I'm wishing you all the best as well

(PS: I'm a postpartum doula, so I could really talk about breastfeeding all day. I just need to become as obsessed with weight loss! LOL)
