Default Article about cellulite: "Dedimple Your Derriere"

Here's a link to an article from Self magazine (reprinted on MSNBC.com) about cellulite, what it is and how it can be treated both medically and non-medically. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the info but thought it was interesting, especially the definition of cellulite:

Quote:
Dermatologists agree: The culprit behind orange-peel skin isn't the underlying fat but the connective collagen tissue beneath it. The collagen acts as pillars to support fat and anchor it to the muscle below, which prevents it from moving around. But when collagen starts to harden (due to hormones, age, genetics or other causes; experts aren't exactly sure), it pulls down on the skin in some places, leaving those lumps.

and the fact that it affects 85% of women ( me!)

Check it out: Dedimple Your Derriere

Thanks for sharing the info, Meg. I saw that article too and thought the explanation was very clear. I finally understand what cellulite is! I have a few dimples here and there (outer thigh and bottom) and bought one of the creams the article suggested -- the one by Boots. I'll let you know how it works.
