You will probably have to re update your tickers and stuff. Hope the new girls find us again too!
I have been working like crazy, semi-sick, and now accommodating TOM, however I was down 1 lb yesterday when I weighed in. My exercise has been for the birds, have the kids this weekend with a stircrazy BF who is aching to go somewhere with them (that boy can't sit still) so we'll see how it all turns out.
Love you ladies... or at least myself alone in this post right now.... and hope you girls get here and report the butt kickings you've accomplished!
Nix: Good work on the loss, and thanks for starting our thread up again
I'm doing pretty good today. Had a half-day at work due to working 9 hours all the other days...so THIS part of the alternate summer schedule I like! Then I came home and had lunch with the family (kids are out of school now), and we had nutrition lessons while eating. Afterwards I bundled everyone up, we went down to the pool, and swam for a while. Now everyone is at home, chilling out, and I'm baking up sweet potato fries...we're just scrounging for dinner, but it'll be healthy, whatever it is.
W - 80 oz or so
E - Swimming for fun!
E - Mmm South Beach and Superfoods.
D - Summer is a great time to be eating healthy and getting FUN exercise.
I've been here long enough to have tickers now. Woohoo! As you can see, one of them is a goal to commute to work by bike...I'm going to see what I can do this weekend to move toward that goal. That means checking out my bike, doing some test rides and so on. I'm a little scared, but I know I can do it if I set my mind to it.
Hello all! Just thought I'd pop in from work and I was so confused~our most recent conversation was from the Memorial day challenge, I was having some deja-vu.
I am so not on plan this week. ugh. Feel like GARBAGE. Grouchy, cranky, bloaty, blah. Must. start. again. Monday.
Got to play in big poker tourny Wednesday night, even DH came out and played! I played so well, but didn't place in the $$$$. it was fun to step out and have a few drinks and be out with DH anyways. Even though he kind of hates playing poker, gets all irritated at me when I'm drinking and having fun (''settle down, you're getting too loud" that kind of crap)
Well can't wait to catch up with the rest of ya'll. Thanks Nixie for bringing us all back together! xoxox michelle
Morining ladies. Boy was I confused. Not good to do to me first thing in the morning.
I found out yesterday that I have to work all week. So I am 3 days in to a 10 day stretch. ( the first two were ten hour days the rest will be twelve hour days). I have got a nasty little cold which I know wont get better until I can get some rest. So workouts are on hold until Monday the 16th (I am going to take next weekend to catch up on rest). I'm really bummed because I had gotton my stamina up to running 4.6 miles. Now I have to start over since I already havent ran in a week.
Anyway I will pop in when I can. But I will be honest with you, I am going to be living on energy drinks (lo-carb ones), coffee, and carbs in order to stay awake through this next week.
W at least 33 oz a day
E I will try to do some extra laps at work, but as short handed as we are I need to be quick at everything
E I will try to stick to about 1500 cals but to be honest, it may hit 1800 cals.
D my goals will be to stay awake, drive safe, not to lose my temper with DH or the Kids. Clean at least one room after work every day. I will try to post every morning or afternoon to keep myself accountable for what I eat.
Hey, hey!! I am thankful to Nixmom for starting us up again. When I realized wha happened yesterday I went to the old thread begging someone to get us started. I am clueless. Anyhow, here we are. YEAH!!!
I have had an awesome week. I lost like 3.5 pounds, Kelly and I won our BL competition at work and I am at my lowest weight yet. I am making good progress and I am happy. I have been working out everyday also. I couldn't remember how many minutes of exercise i had tracked on my ticker, so I guesstimated.
Today I am doing my first official 5K, you know where I sign up and it is an actual event. It was storming here yesterday, so I hope weather is good for today.
Oh the best news is, yesterday was our last day of school. It is officially summer!!
Yay!!!!! So glad that the thread is alive and kicking!
Jcat - sorry you're not feeling well, and I know going into work when all you want to do is sleep and recoup, sucks. Hope you're feeling better soon!
Nchelle - funny about your husband and his "embarrassment meter" going off when you're enjoying yourself. A friend of mine who happens to be affectionately known as Nurse Michelle is the rowdy one too! We did a girls trip to Laughlin in March and she was definitely the life o' the trip! You pump up that volume girl and don't let no poker hatin' man spoil your fun! Oh... and I'm with you on the Monday restart. I have to get back to the gym and revive the exercise portion of my world.
Mtiger - love love love the new spunk and congrats on the loss! See... you just needed to get the ole system kick started again! Have a great time at the 5k!
War- congrats on the tickers and the 1/2 day off! We start 9/80's on June 30th and I cannot wait to have every other Friday off. BF better hope I don't figure out how to launch the boat by myself!
My WEED goes like this!
W- 1/2 gallon... not usually something that happens on the weekends
E - Cleaning House, potting plants, shopping, chasing children
E - Who knows, but I will manage portions regardless of content
D - The day is lighter longer, use it wisely!
I wasn't sure what the heck was going on when I checked in with my WEEDers. I'm not sure where I was with exercise but I'll guestimate on the new one and take it from there. Ate like crap most of the week, didn't exercise as much, no water, TOM arrived, etc. Week 2 of back to work coming up and I'm plannin' on gettin' back on the WEED!!!
NixM- Thanks for regrouping us.
War- Congrats on the tickers and good thinking about commuting by bike. Now you got me thinking!
NurseM- Hang in there- I'm strugglin' along with ya!
JCat- Good luck on the long work stretch.
MTig- Congrats on the loss! Congrats on the win! Congrats on the end of school year!!!
Hi, ladies! Thanks for starting the thread again, Nix. It was very disorienting to try and find where we were. I hope everyone checks in soon.
Also, congrats on the pound lost for good.
mtiger - Wow! I'm so impressed by all your energy and persistence. Where can I get some? It's definitely paying off with a 3.5 lb loss. WTG!!!!
JCat - Sounds like a bit of a nightmre 10 days. Ouch. We'll be thinking about you and your survival. I don't know how so many of y'all do 12 hours shifts. Just the thought makes me exhausted!
War - Awesome plan of commuting by bike! Do it! Also, I never mentioned, but I have a couple of Superchick's earlier CDs and enjoy them. Very uplifting and energizing!
Grazer - Get your rear back in gear! Come on, step up the WEED - we miss you when you're gone!
As fo myself . . . I've "discovered" the Biggest Loser TV show. I know this is old news for all of you, but I've been out of the country since it started. This weekend I found some episodes online and watched them and WOW! How motivational and inspirational. Not entirely realistic, I know (I refuse to be disappointed in a 4 pound loss!) but very interesting. It really made me think that transforming my body is possible.
So, I'm stepping it up this coming week. Who's with me???? Daily posts, making concrete goals, and sticking to them! Maybe I can't lose 14 pounds by next week () but I can lose 1 or 2 and keep making good choices!
In that spirit, here's today's WEED:
W - Guzzle it - I really am less hungry when I drink enough. 3L
E - Do a TJ dvd - at least a 45 minutes one.
E - Watch it. Regular meals and snacks, no munching.
D - Go grocery shopping to prepare with healthy foods for the week.
I made it through day umm, 5. I forgot I worked on Tuesday. That makes it an 11 day stretch. I went all day today thinking it was sunday 6 more to go!!
Calories not doing so well, getting in to many carbs and sugar today. I'll try harder tomorrow but I am trying to get used to new protein shake, eww. It is taking a lot to get used to.
The 5K was kind of fun. I just wish someone had done it with me, that would have been more fun. I was really surprised how many people were there. My goal was to do it in 45 min, walking most, jogging as much as possible. It was HOT . I didn't jog as much as I wanted. Crossed the line in 46.1. Man, so close. I was soaked when I was done.
Later in the day we went back downtown to check out the happenings. Walked around for another 3.5 hours. My legs are sore today. The scale is down a little more today. Maybe I can make 215 by the 14th.
Jcat- I couldn't do it. They would kill me. You hang in there.
Jen- Love the BL. I have 2 DVD's of theirs that i do often. I am there with you this week. I'll post everyday and workout everyday and hit 215 by Sat. (my birthday).
Grazer- Come back to us and recommit. You can do it this week. Make it a good one.
Nix- I can see it now. Nix is in jail for running away with the boat. I am so looking forward to some days with nobody home but me.
Yesterday was day 2 of severe storms. We are floating away here. Nix, bring the boat over, we can cruise my yard. I hope we get a break today. See ya tom.
Hey Girls, thanks for the support. I'm not givin' up; just didn't think returning to work would turn our world upside down. On top of that, TOM is kickin' my butt big time this month. I'm still eatin' loads of crap but I managed to get for a short walk today. I'm goin' to join you gals in daily posts and exercise this week!
WEED for Monday:
W- get back on it.
E- mindful
E- Yoga or Pilates
D- Peace
Just checking in. It's Monday morning here but since I'm the only one, I didn't think I should confuse you all by starting a new thread for the week.
Yay, Mindy! Thanks for joining me. We can do this. On plan and losing weight!
Grazer - Didn't mean to imply that you were giving up. I just wanted to encourage you not to even consider that idea. I hope this week is a little easier for you.
JCat - Do you like protein shakes? Do you use them as a snack or meal replacement? Hope you're sleeping ok in between all those shifts!
Everyone have a good night - I hope some of our regulars show up soon!
Jen, I usually eat about 6 times per day. I have protein shakes 2wice a day. All of them have been an aquired taste. Some take longer to get used to than others. The one I am trying now is okay mixed with coffee, but if I mix it with milk I have to choke it down.
Today was mostly good, but instead of my normal food I just ate crackers, all feakin day. Nothing good for me, just the crunch and sodium of crackers. I forgot my protein shake shaker. Today is over tomorrow will be better (I hope). need to shower and hit the bed.
