This group is for those dealing with the challenges of having a significant amount of weight to lose and being fit which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in.
What a disaster the 3FC site has had. They lost thousands of posts and had to restart the Forums from a May backup. Everything else is gone!
I hope I remembered the correct thread #.
We had a fantastic lightning event last night. Some heavy rain, but and hour plus of flash after flash of lightning and crashing thunder, no wind, as the storm seemed to crawl from west to east at about 3 AM. Amazingly we kept our power. Nature sure can be scarey and beautiful at the same time.
My first week back OP has been a success. Can't wait for Sunday AM and my "official" weigh in.

Reason: spelling oops.
Wow! I couldn't believe the thread was GONE! But I'm glad to see it got restarted!
My first work-week OP is almost over and I'm happy to say I've been perfectly OP! Probably not drinking as much water as I should, but getting in plenty of veggies and staying within points! I even have enough for strawberry shortcake tonight! (Or tomorrow - depends on when I get to it.) AND - I lost a pound!
Got back to work today and made it to 3:00 then went home and crashed for an hour! Don't know whether it's the pain or the valium, but I'm beat!
I'll try to be back on the weekend! Have a good one ladies!
I picked the perfect day to get started eating healthy again. I must have been sooooo full of fluid that my body was swimming on the day I weighed in. I lost 16.5 lbs last week sticking faithfully to WW Online WOOHOO.
Years ago I had a 15 lb. weight loss in a first week so I'm not worried and I know I'll settle in to a much more normal loss schedule this week.
I am one happy 3FCer.
HEATHER: Hope graduation went quickly. It's gotten unbearably hot here too.
Wow, that is really sucky about the server crashing. Poor Suzanne and Jennifer!
Yesterday was yard work day again. With all this rain, it is a continuous effort. Can you believe I actually had chores to do IN the pool too! I've been antsin' to get in for days. The water wasn't too cold and it felt great to be in it again. I had to get the steps set inside the pool and vacuum. Setting the steps involves being able to hold the steps down, because they float, and put cinderblocks underneath to hold them down. All without drowning or dropping the cinderblock on liner and creating a hole. I noticed this time that I was actually able to dive down to the bottom of the pool. Its only a 52" pool but last year I really wasn't able to get to the bottom like yesterday. Do you think its the weight loss??? Or stronger from going to the fitness center?? I played, errrr worked, in the pool for about an hour.
Terri - That's awesome you're noticing how much fitter you are. That makes such a world of difference for me -- being able to do things easily now that woudl have been a struggle before, or being able to even do them at ALL!
Hey guys. I may not be on again for a few days. You see, I'm illegally up and in a chair right now. Last week, fell and hurt my back. This week, missed a step, rolled my ankle (heard it crunch and was sure it was broken) and fell again. So anyway, after much time in the ER, I was told it isn't broken, but severely sprained. It's large and a lovely shade of green and purple. The ER Doc actually said a fracture might have been better. I'm not supposed to do anything for 48 hours but lay down with my feet higher than my head. I don't know what I'll do about work tomorrow. The crutches are making the back even worse. I have many good narcotics right now that are keeping me loopy. I'm actually thinking of renting a wheel chair for a couple days. We'll see. And I'm supposed to go to my camping event Friday!!! This really stinks.
And now it's throbbing from being down, so I better get off the computer and lay back down. Later all!

Lilion,
Check with your local ambulance corps or fire dept. They may be able to direct you to a local organization that loans wheel chairs, crutches, etc. for free or for a small donation. We have one in our small town.
Take care and enjoy the "good drugs" while you can.
I'm back. I've been doing laundry, cleaning house and working on bill stuff on the computer. I had about a 15 minutes nap in the chair while DH was watching golf. I spent about 2 hours working with and riding Spanky. I need to be able to take him somewhere to ride but really don't want to go by myself until later on. Fair weather riders and price of gas are keeping Spanky and I at home. The nap was after the horseback riding.
Lilion - Holy cow, you better take care of yourself and do what you're supposed to do. Sounds like you need to work remotely from the recliner. That ankle roll happened to someone at work and you cannot rush that. I'd go for the wheelchair too so you don't cause your back any more grief. Take care and see you when you're better!
Whatever am I going to do with myself tonight???? The Tudor's are over on Showtime. I love that show.
to all! Better go help DH with dinner. We're having salad from the garden along with BBQ chicken!
