I'm making dinner and the recipe calls for 1/2 c. of butter (it's a sauce for chicken). Is there a lower calorie alternative? I know I should probably be just baking it with no sauce, but I'm trying to change things up a bit..
I use smart balance light spread! where as butter is over 100 cals in a tablespoon and almost 12 grams of fat, smart balance light is only about 45 cals in a tablespoon and 5 grams of fat.
however when you are putting half a cup of it in you are still getting about 360 cals and 40 grams of fat total in the dish.
Kind of like a honey mustard. I reduced everything so the chicken will have about 1/4 the sauce it calls for, and I used about 1 Tbsp. of olive oil, honey, and dijon mustard. I just put it in the oven, and it actually looks pretty good.
I just graduated in December!
It is a great town. I am here for at least one more year and taking advantage of the lack of traffic and cheap housing haha.
